Crafting.

By Hugh Salamando Filth, in Genesys

I actually didn't pick up my CRB yet, because not everything we ordered (lots of CRBs and a ton of dice) has arrived yet.

So I need to ask:

Is there a crafting rule compartment for crafting?

In all my PnP lifetime I enjoyed the crafting system from Iron Kingdoms the most.

Has FFG just touched the topidc or did dug into it in more detail?

There are rules for GM crafting. The rules for PC crafting are... technically there.

Thanks guys! It just showed up for me as well

It feels like, without scientific rigor, that a lot of these rules are presented as hackable frameworks that work by themselves, but are left open to modification and extension down the road. It seems like a smart plan to be able to create (and sell!) different modules that can plug right in and taste right in the recipe. Hopefully a rudimentary crafting system works for most with additional options for the keen crafter coming down the road sometime.

It really wouldn't take much tweaking to modify the rules for crafting in Star Wars and port them over to Genesys. A good GM will simply want to take a look at the Templates and Adv/Tri/Thr/Des results and make sure potential results are balanced for their game.

Like, I don't know if I'd let someone make Augmented Armor from Keeping the Peace unless they were wizards, steampunk scientists, or in a sci-fi setting (or a modern one with Super Hero tones).

I was hoping for a sneak peek at some vehicle crafting.

The whole crafting thing was part of sourcebooks in SW. I'd expect it to be addressed on a genre by genre basis in Genesys to do it properly, and be a solid marketing hook for FFG to move books.
