Help with Ackbar TRC90s

By Cusm, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I have never played Rebels and we have a tournament this weekend that I want to give them a shot. This will be a fun list I am not expecting a regional winning build, I would like it to be some what competitive. I want Ackbar and TRC90s in there. I have 5 CR90s (4 TRC cards) and I want to get some on the table instead of in the case.

394 total

MC80 Mon Calamari Star Cruiser (114)

- Admiral Ackbar (38)

- Walex Blissex (5)

- Engine Techs (8)

- Reinforced Blast Doors (5)

- Electronic Countermeasures (7)

- Leading Shots (4)

- XI7 Turbolasers (6)

- Defiance (5)

CR90 Corellian Corvette (44)

- Intel Officer (7)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7)

- Jaina's Light (2)

CR90 Corellian Corvette (44)

- Intel Officer (7)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7)

- Dodonna's Pride (6)

CR90 Corellian Corvette (44)

- Intel Officer (7)

- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits (7)

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)

- Comms Net (2)
• Total : 20

Squadrons 4 teh weak? :P

I'd remove the 3 Intel Officers, the gr75, Blissex, and field your 4th TRC. So you still have your 5 activations, and you really maximize Ackbar efficiency.

Locally squads are not that big, not opposed to squads, I could run 3 TRC90s (and your suggested edits) and have 52 points for squads. I usually run my anti-squad squad (Soontir, Howl, Dengar, Mithral & Advance) and it spends most of it's time plinking at big ships. I figured TRC90s could just blast around the mat and maybe avoid squads long enough to kill something. What is the Rebel anti-squad squad? Biggs and As?

For interception and to lock into dogfight: Shara Bey and/or Tycho Celchu.

To destroy single targets: Dutch + Wedge

For a swiss knife strike force: Jan Ors + 3+ XWings

I’d reccomend swapping Walex for Lando as BTAvenger insurance

Take 2:

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 399/400

Commander: Admiral Ackbar

Assault Objective: Advanced Gunnery
Defense Objective: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation Objective: Solar Corona

[ flagship ] MC80 Assault Cruiser (114 points)
- Admiral Ackbar ( 38 points)
- Defiance ( 5 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- Reinforced Blast Doors ( 5 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 187 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Jainas Light ( 2 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 53 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Dodonnas Pride ( 6 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 57 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 51 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 51 total ship cost

Dodonnas pride won’t really get you anything on an A, I’d seriously drop it for Lando on the flagship. If that thing goes down it will be very hard to claw back, and Lando helps vs BT, Demo, MC-30’s, etc

Thanks I will swap those.

With those three defensive options (ECM, RBD, Lando), and engine techs to keep it mobile that thing is **** near unkillable, and very fun to fly :)

one more consideration, maybe swap xi7 for QBT on the pickle? It can be very nice having that blue dice for long range rerolls without having to rely only on Defiance (plus now you can use it to add a black!). Xi7 is nice for drilling fleets, but doesn’t synergize all that well with TRC-90s as the opponent will just redirect all of those shots anyway.

just my 2 cents

Thanks for the inputs. I went 1-1 and finished first inthe tournament. My first game, learning to fly and a combo of Dondonna and bombers with great rolls are my lunch, lost that game 5-6 with a 40 point MoV. Second game was a 10-1 win only lost one TRC90.
