Best wing mates for Crossfire Formation?

By BVRCH, in X-Wing

I'm quite keen to fly an all resistance list once I get my hands on the new bomber and try out the new Crossfire Formation title.

As soon as I saw this it reminded me of the commonwealth defenders fortress style list and that's the style of game play I've based a preliminary list on.

Jess Pava (25)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)
Pattern Analyzer (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)

"Crimson Specialist" (27)
Trajectory Simulator (1)
Bomblet Generator (3)
Advanced Optics (2)
Deflective Plating (1)
Crossfire Formation (2)

Nien Nunb (29)
Stay On Target (2)
BB-8 (2)
Primed Thrusters (1)

Total: 98

What do you think of the list? What would your choice of wingmates be to escort the Flying Seahorse in an all resistance list?

  • I'm a real fan of Snap Shot/R3-A2 Nien Numb. He's a great hunter of 'superior' aces, and stressing someone (so they're stuck on a limited dial) is a good combination for the bomber, who'll then have a better chance of lining up a bomblet on them.
  • M9-G8 is a great asset for Jess. Flght Assist is cheap, but G8 helps buff up the rest of the squad or mess with an enemy attacker, and is probably better on a low PS pilot.

My idea with FFA on Jess and SoT on Nien was to give Jess more manoeuvrability to set up blocks for the bombers launcher. Then Nien could remanoeuvre with his build to get his shots whilst still avoiding the bomblets.

I do really like M9-G8 on Jess though. That'd be a good swap for the extra 2pts I have spare.

I'm not a fan of SSbot Nien though. Just my personal preference.
