Deathstar/Triumphant Cry Experiences?

Just looking to get some people’s experience with deathstars, specifically spearstars but I’ve considered it with waiqar as well. It’s not primarily my play style or go-to style of listbuilding, but I wanted to try something new.

My biggest hesitancy is the fear of running a giant Christmas tree and not getting the damage output I want out of it. More specifically my fear is best case scenario you match up the unit you want, kill it, then spend the rest of the game trying to reform and catch someone else with 40% of your list. Worst case you hit speed bump after speed bump (or even nothing for that matter, because of terrain or something) and your actual ideal targets are long gone by the time you are clear.

Which makes me want to staple triumphant cry on to this unit to at least help with the follow on targeting. Anyone tried this? Thoughts? Better options/tactics?

It's definitely good. Game's only 8 rounds, if it can save you spending one on reforming, great investment. Plus, it's cheap and can't be removed like figure upgrades: Aggressive musicians are other quality action-savers, but easy to remove.

Triumphant Cry is definitely on my list of things to try. I have six trays of Reanimates to assemble, and then I can put the 12-tray unit on the table and give it a whirl (pun intended).

Triumphant Cry is a worthwhile investment. One of the easiest ways to lose a big block unit is to have it facing the wrong direction.

My thought though is at least you have a lot of points that they need to get rid of to win.
