Orc Deck - 1 Core set used, help needed

By wulfen2, in Warhammer Invasion Deck Building

I decided that I wanted to show my version of the orc deck and wanted some help developing it and seeing some new ideas that I may not have discovered.

I have been playing WH:I for around 3 months and only use 1 Core set and 1 copy of each of the BattlePacks.

Any help is appreciated and I hope to give some insight into just using 1 Core set compared to having to buy x2/x3 copies of the set to make everything work competitively as some people keep suggesting.

Any thoughts and comments are welcome and any fixes are much appreciated as I said, this deck is being used in the WH:I league and I am looking for ways to make it better.

Thank you for you time and happy browsing.

I'd make quite a few changes. Here are some notes in no particular order:

  • Add 3x Warpstone Excavation. You usually want to play these in your quest zone.
  • Add 3x Veteran Sellswords. Free units will usually benefit you much more than your opponent - if the game goes long you will lose anyway.
  • Of your supports, I would cut everything except Choppa and Contested Village.
  • You want to raise the unit count. If you run out of cheap Orc units (and you probably will), consider the Skaven. However, the 2 best skaven are only 1x (Greyseer and Clan Moulder Elite) so honestly I'm not sure that's the way to go. You do have 3x Clan Rat though and they're awesome if your overall Skaven count is high enough. You could also ally with Chaos to get some of their cheaper units.
  • Cut Mob Up - it'll occasionally be useful but against a lot of decks it won't do anything.
  • Grimgor Ironhide is too expensive to be worthwhile.
  • Add a single Rock Lobber - your deck will be slower than the optimal build and it will give you a bit of extra reach to finish games where you didn't quite burn the second zone.
  • Totem of Gork is also probably worth running.
  • Given that you will be scraping the barrel on units, Big 'Uns and Ironclaw's Horde probably make it in.

There's probably more I could say but that's at least a start. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help, I shall try some of these changes and see how it runs, thanks for the advice.

I will possibly build this deck with the changes for the next league day and post up the results.

Anybody else have any hints/tips/changes for the deck?
