Adding More Hard Points

By claytacia, in Game Masters

Does anyone know if additional hard points can be added to weapons, armor and star ships?

Thanks,

Clay

There are a few talents out there, that can achieve such a thing. Off the top of my head "Tinkerer" and "Intuitive Improvements" come to mind but there are others (especially for ships) as far as I recall.

@[Arkas] pretty much nailed it. The only other way I know of to get more hard points on an item is if it's an item you personally crafted, and rolled enough Advantage or Triumphs to allow you to increase the normal Hard Point count (to a maximum of 2 additional HP).

For ships, I believe the Modder can add hard points to their signature vehicle. Which can easily be the group ship.

There's nothing official but talents; so it's "impossible" at my table, at least for ships, and time and funds consuming.

There are a small handful of talents that let you add Hard Points to items and/or vehicles. If you use the crafting rules it is possible on an exceptional roll to get more Hardpoints than you would normally on a 'stock' version of the same item.

It is the design intent of the system for hardpoints to be limited in their availability on gear and ship.

If homebrew is acceptable, Cartol's Emporium has a houserule for spending credits to trade out encumbrance for additional hardpoints. It's expensive in both credits and in encumbrance, and the price tag gets more appalling with silhouette size, but if you want more hardpoints, that's the best option without spending experience in the Modder or Rigger trees.
