I've never had a problem using my aftermarket one, including regionals last year. But I do carry the card one just in case, lol. Or I used to, I have an official one now...

it's literally in the rules that you can use your opponents tools if you request so even if a tournament didn't allow it(which would be nonsense) you can still use the other persons. It seems like a lot of the people I've played against at tournaments use the litko ones or the plastic that was handed out at tournaments. /shrug, people freaking out about measuring tools seems a bit like them looking for something to be upset by though(I do understand being frustrated by FFG's inconsistent sizes though, that just seems sloppy).

also, just to bring it up because i hadn't seen anyone do it yet: SSD SWM20

Point of note:

You cannot request to use your opponents tools.

You can only request for A SINGLE TOOL to be shared.

Depending on your judge, that may be the crappy cardboard one that is barely holding together, but is still legal...

Clearly, you have not created a uniform that allows you to rack your medals on the breast and the coins on the shoulders.

I have one befitting an Imperial minion of my standing. (Nowadays, even more shoulder coins.)

I hope you command your fleet dressed like that. I would if I played Empire!

I wish i could get in some 4 player tournaments. lol so i can win something besides participant cards.

Frequently, though I take off the medals, as they're heavy and make way too much noise.

Warriors...come out and play-ay.

I have commanded my fleet in my Admirals uniform before. The medals I have, I took off the tabs and glued them to my carry case.

The real shame about 3rd party rulers is that if ffg just sold plastic/acrillic either in the starter or separately very seldom would you see 3rd party rulers.
