I am thinking about going to a regional for the first time. I have been looking for resources that describe how the actual event runs, how the hanger bay works, etc... I tried doing some searches on the forum and the main site and really couldn't find anything. Can anyone help direct me to a source or could describe how the events work? How many cuts, how do you move into hanger bay if you lose, etc..

Most regionals won’t have hanger bays, that’s typically a System Open thing, however, some of the larger ones will. I would recommend private messaging the Tournament Organizer for your questions. Each regional can vary in size so the number of rounds and the cut will vary according to FFG’s tournament regulations found on their website under X-Wing.

Like Tbetts said, Hangar Bay isn’t part of the main tournament; it’s just a side event, and you don’t usually see them at Regionals. If you’re curious, though, the basic idea is that each player brings two lists, sees his opponents two lists, and then secretly selects which squad he wants to use. Adds a cool level out guesswork to the game.
