Yet another “Drawn In” thread

By BlodVargarna, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Tonight we run Drawn In. I’m pretty excited because the last side mission Breaking Point was a disappointment.

Im facing Dialla, Garkaan, Jyn, and Mak. They are at this point pretty awesome with their upgrades.

My open groups will be Elite Stormtroopers, Regular Royal Guard, Elite Driod, and Regular Officer.

Any ideas or tactics are much appreciated. I don’t have anything other than core set.

(But I do have Kayn Somas, however we’ve never run the side mission. I’m a little reluctant to just stick him in as it might make the Rebels feel like a “gotcha” was pulled on them, though inherently he doesn’t seem unbalanced.)

believe me dude if you don't get a villain for free in a mission you pick one as an open group and pay for threat for it, you've already done the rebs a favor. But technically it is a house rule.

What class deck are you using?

Military Might.

the 0 cost card from Military Might is probably the single best 0 exp class card Imps get their hands on. Make sure you use it on a 3 dice attack whenever you can so try to get it off with the Eweb and the RGC

Imperial Victory!

The Royal Guard Champion was brutal! He wounded each of the heroes one by one. Using the Elite Officer (possible MVP candidate) to give orders to RGC, and twice the heroes killed a storm trooper triggering Executor for RGC, he sometimes got 3 attacks a round! Of course using Show of Force to add a green die to an attack didn’t hurt.

I took Officer, Elite Stormtroopers, Elite Probe Droid, and Royal Guard in my open group. At this point in the campaign, I don’t think Elite storm troopers are worth it, the Rebels are killing a stormtroopers easily whether they are 3 hp or 5 hp.

I never was able to bank enough threat to bring on the Royal Guard, the Droid floated uselessly at one of the far deployment zones.

I frustrated the Rebs by closing doors on them, causing them to waste actions to open it.

It was a close one though, and as these scenarios often do, it came down to an action here, and a die roll there.

This game is awesome!

I had a great time playing this mission as Davith. Managed to destroy 2 of 4 terminals so the rest of the party didn't have to overextend themselves. I was wounded but it was worth it. Amazing mobility.

Diala was force throwing Fenn and Mak out of the side rooms after they destroyed the terminals.

Most satisfying Rebel victory ever
