I was honestly hoping for that dial to be the resistance A-Wing dial. now I can only hope the resistance dial has adds green 3's and a sloop!

Both look like good Silencer wingmen (not at the same time)

If needing another 2 points, dropping Linked Batteries may not be that crippling

The ept is actually great on youngster in epic, combined with a swarm leader. Epic has 12 obstacles...

New rules question (sorry if someone else asked it):

Can you skip a ship becoming the "Active ship"?

I know you can miss shooting with a ship thanks to the "missed oppurtunity" rules.

But can me, as the owner of that Tech, force an enemy ship to be the active ship if my opponent forgets his ship?

Is there a "pre activation" phase where my opponent decides he wants that ship to be the active ship? Or is thinking what he will do with that ship cause it to be active?

Good question, that would be big. Kind of like passing up on a shot to deny Whisper ACD.

I doubt it. Shooting is a conscious decision you make. Being there at the moment (which activation represents in a turn based game), isn't.

Having FCS and the Title is a good way to use the tech without neutering your offense. But I still think I'd rather have Adv Sensors for arc dodging. Although I'm also considering a PTL build instead of VI.

Hate to pop your bubble but Youngster's ability is restricted to "friendly TIE fighters", so it only works on the TIE Fighter, TIE/FO Fighter and TIE/SF Fighter.

oh if youngster wasnt restricted to TIEs you'd see him randomly to give Marksmanship or something off to a more menacing ship that happens to have PTL (use EPT action, PTL into something else)

His problem is all of the action EPTs are lousy as **** for tie fighters. The moment we get one that is actually good for ties hes going to be an issue. Especially since TIE includes /fo and /sf

So what is variable for builds and what is more or less fixed?

Both Kylo and Blackout: Advanced Sensors (maybe FCS), Autothrusters, Title

EPT and Tech is harder to pick IMO.

VI is a solid lowbudget choice for both, but more for Kylo due to PS11

PTL should be pretty good with the new tech. What other choices do you guys see?

Just so we're clear:

Blackout + PTL + Adv Sens + Sensor Cluster + AT = 41 points
Omega Leader (standard) = 26 Points
Palp Shuttle = 29 Points
TOTAL = 96 Points

I was using him with QD (Swarm leader/Rage/baffle) and some ps1 ties. was pretty funny taking rage and then shooting... then shooting again! for 5-6 dice both times! janky AF, but pretty fun.

My go-to will be the point fortress uncatchable Kylo: the core loadout you mentioned with the addition of PTL and PA. Hes's ublockable. Can PTL before or after his maneuver (you choose based on the board state). Has decent offense and amazing defense as long as he isn't seeing 4+ die attacks. 47 pts, which is a feature not a downside. The Empire finally has a ship that can point fortress as well as Poe and Miranda. No longer do I have to deal with the frustrating endgame of an ace trying to take down Poetensity.
