sorry if these have been covered somewhere else and ive missed them but after reading the "rules summary" thread i had a few questions first off

Stand Your Ground

Q. If a dwarf unit was a development that was destroyed, can I play Stand Your Ground to return it to play?

A. Yes (official FAQ).

does it return to play as a unit or as a developement

and also with indirect damage is it all assignable to one unit e.g. i play surprise attack with 5 developements in my battlefield can my opponent assign it all to one unit with 1HP? or as soon as one of the indirect damage is assigned the unit dies? so really do you still get to assign damage and then apply it seperately when not during combat?

thanks alot

Rox

Re: Stand your ground.

It returns to play as a unit.

Re: indirect damage

There was much discussion about how indirect damage works but the official FAQ cleared it up. You can't assign more indirect damage to a unit than would be required to destroy it, so in your example where you have a 1 hp unit and they play Surprise Attack for 5, you can only assign 1 of the 5 to the unit.

Re: damage assignation

There is no separate step for noncombat damage between assigning the damage and the damage being dealt. That said, you can usually respond to actions - e.g. if my opponent casts Flames of Tzeentch on my unit, I can respond to the Flames with Steel's Bane to save it. However, I can't respond to the damage from the Flames being dealt - I must respond to the actual Flames action.

That's awesome, cheers for getting back to me so quickly
