Countdown + Duchess + Sabacc + Omega Leader

By Boom Owl, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Already familiar with the very well documented Lambda shuttle version of this.

Posting this variant separately since its been so much fun....3 named strikers with Omega Leader.

Presents a # of tactical options deciding how to split the 4 ships during place forces, who to hold back, block, or flank with etc.

Super dice dependent but when it works....w/e they are shooting at melts fast.

Sabacc is target priority #1 which leaves Duchess & Omega Leader some breathing room in the mid/end game.

Looks like it would be fun to fly bombing around with all those Strikers.

My only alteration would be to change Countdown's LWF to Hull Upgrade, and you already have the points to do it. Each hull on him is worth a lot because of his ability. He could blank out on greens and still reduce a 5 hit attack to one damage and stress (and that is just huge).

I would just say that Strikers are super susceptible to mines and I've lost quite a few of them without ever taking a shot. So there is that bad matchup, but I think it could be a fun casual list.

I agree, with comparatively few mods, its soft, but looks fun! If you fly cleverly and the dice cooperate, it could be very potent. Target priority is the big benefit you have going.

Your other option, apart from putting Hull Upgrade on Countdown, would be to use the extra point to replace VI on Pure Sabaac with Snap Shot. PS 10 vs 8 is big in this meta, but PS 8 vs 6 not so much, and with Snap Shot you'd want to be moving first anyways. A 3 dice snap shot followed by a 5 dice primary is really going to hurt anyone unlucky enough to trigger it. Not sure it's better than the Hull Upgrade though.
