For the inferno TIE, I am also considering painting on the inferno squad logo to one or both of the wings, just unsure of how to go about it in a safe way for the ship
Modded TIE defender

Deci with bigger gun (cause I may or may not have lost the normal ones...)

If you have Dollar stores around you, there's a product called LA's Totally Awesome (like a high strength degreaser, essentially.. yellow fluid in a spray bottle, smells super strong), that'll take acrylic right off these ships without harming the original finish. I left my Lambda soaking an entire weekend by accident and it was fine.
My freehand sucks, but I think the successful emblem painters on here would (perhaps) use a stencil for the circle prior to adding the stripes? I'm reaching at this point...
Keep it up.

Thanks! In the time since I’ve posted, I’ve painted all my imperial ships with red windows (I’ll post them eventually) (and yes I’m counting the firespray for imperial)
Scurrg repaint!

gold panels, to match the gold Vader I’ll make when Star Wars legion comes
I can’t find a decent pic of the back of an Inferno Squad TIE Fighter but I seem to remember, from playing the game, that they had a red circle around the solar ionization reactor.

Interesting, I’ll look that up and if that’s correct, I’ll get it painted when I get the chance

Do you have a finer tipped brush? I'm not sure if the way you are applying paint is a stylistic choice or a result of either over-loading the brush and/or using too big a brush for the job.

Considering I only have two brushes and a toothpick...probably both of the latter
If you have a spare $5 or so, you can pick up a pack of cheap brushes from Jo-Anne's, Wal-Mart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby or similar that has a wide variety of sizes typically from 0 or 00 (fine & super fine) on up.
Not the ones with coarse bristles. It should say they're for watercolors or for acrylic paints.
Then you can also mess around with different painting techniques like dry-brushing or panel lining.
If you're not keen on spending $5 per bottle of the better model paints (Vallejo, Citadel, Army Painter, etc.), you can get away with buying craft paint from those stores too which usually run about $1-$3. Or you could pick up a basic set of acrylic artist paints (the kind that come in a tube) for around $10-15. They have a bigger variety of colors in the sets, but they are in tubes, in which case you can and should make a wet palette (a tupper-ware/sandwich box, household sponge or paper towel, baking parchment paper and water) to preserve the paints your'e using. Google it. Supplies available at the dollar stores. I've had them stay usable for 4+ weeks.

Thanks, I’ll work on that ![]()
Multiple brushes to choose from will definitely help with what I want to do to my resistance bomber, paint Paige on one side with “Paige” in aurabesh above her, and do the same with rose on the other side
