Nebula painting

Hey guys just watched this video and thought it looked nice and easy to do!

Do you think it would look as good IRL as it does on the video?

I have been wanting to paint my ships for a quite a while now but 1 haven’t got a lot of time and 2 I REALLY don’t want to mess up so I’m thinking of doing this now but I just wanted to know what you awesome painters think, would you be impressed if you saw this?

That's a really nice paint job they did. I'd be impressed, but more importantly: would YOU be happy/impressed having it as part of your collection?

Don't sweat messing up, it's only paint and it can be painted over or removed fairly easily. If you have very little or no experience, it may not be realistic to expect to paint at the same level as some of the most experienced painters out there.

The good news is painting is fun and the more you paint, the more you improve. I'd recommend practicing on some old toys where you could try some of the techniques from the video before you commit (Hot Wheels/Matchbox military type vehicles or similiar).

The biggest obstacle is making the first attempt. It's like swimming: you can't just learn to do it by watching videos and reading--you just have to get in there. Don't go kicking yourself if you "messed up" or didn't paint up to the standard you set for yourself, I don't think I've ever come across anyone dumping on other painters. This forum is one of the rare ones that is super supportive with tips to help when things go sideways and with giving praise for your efforts. We've all been there at some point.

Put some paint on your ships! You'll be happy you tried it.
