The Wings INVERT - TIE SILENCER

By lntrn8, in X-Wing

Lego reveal . . . sure you've seen it . . . will the ffg model wings invert as well?

My guess is its just Lego taking creative license with their figure, since they need to use the joints to get the angle, they can't not have it be able to pivot. Highly unlikely the movie version does that.

What if I tell u...that could be another reason to justify the more expensive expansion?

...Of course we're at the mercy of FFG, still, but one can hope right. :(

Probably not, because FFG doesn't exactly get news of the movie material usually until AFTER it is released. That's how we get such memorable names as Red Ace and why we didn't have K-2S0 present in anything from Rogue One.

But they Do have U-wings & Tie Strikers with movable wings, which should have even less trailer screen time than K-2S0 at the time.

They also didn't have bombs on the Striker which the actual ship had.

Also the X-wing, B-wing, ARC, and TIE Advanced Prototype don't have movable wings.

Plus images from cons and what not have shown the FFG model and it doesn't look like their are any hinges on the wings.

Yeah. I guess it's just wishful thinking in the end. :(

A book written to vaguely coincide with the movie, and thus separately from the making the actual movie says they do. They don't actually use bombs anywhere in the film, and presumably it wasn't mentioned at all in any of the movie development materials FFG got in advance of the film, yet their adaptive ailerons and large laser count were, presumably.

That said I think people are right, we've gotten to see the Silencer in action quite a bit AND got a big reveal segment on it's statistics, yet never once were the wings shown as pivoted, unlike animations and information which came out about the U-Wing and Striker. Nor are S-foils a given for articulation.

In Battlefront 2, the wings never move but then again Kylo already has Mag-Pulse missiles so maybe not the best example.

I don't think the wings are going to move.

Also, did anyone actually see TIE Striker wings flap in the movie?

All wings will move if you try hard enough.

Well, once at least.

I think there was at least one ominous shot of Strikers flying and the ailerons shifted, but no, it wasn't a huge deal.

0:37, does this count?

Flappy TIE is flappy.

The movie model may not actually have movable wings. They may be movable on the LEGO version simply because reusing those movable joints was the only way to get the correct angle of the wings on the short notice Disney likely allowed them to get the product to market.

They move due to the parts needed to get the wings at that angle. They did the same thing on the TIE X1 and those panels move because of the parts used to make it.

As someone who literally just rebuilt a bunch of his old LEGO Star Wars ships today, including the TIE Advanced which has hinges just like that: can confirm.

After reading all these posts and looking at the Lego video of the silencer, I am willing to bet that the silencer functionally inverts its wings.

why out of a sizzle reel would Lego showcase the wings to invert?

whether ffg makes the silencer do that ... We shall soon see!!

Because its a "free" play feature. The bricks used to get an angle move, so why not sell it.

Well, let's just say I'll believe THAT is significant, if the LEGO video for the TIE Advanced also showed its wings pivo...oh, f*^&)

Now wait a **** minute ... This is a whole nutha level of "What If" (Marvel Comics Easter egg).

What If the Silencer wings invert AND his Grandfather's TIE Advanced wings invert as well .... We just haven't seen it invert on film?!

more wishful thinking
