If I am already stressed and execute a red monuvour, what happens to my ship?

You can not execute red maneuvers when you are stressed .

If you attempt to execute a red maneuver while stressed, you instead perform a White 2-Straight.

Do you still get stressed

But who do I trust

FAQ, page 7:

Revealing Red Maneuvers

When a player reveals a red maneuver for a stressed ship, the only card effects he may resolve are those that change the maneuver to a different one (Adrenaline Rush, Navigator, etc.). After resolving these effects, if the ship would still be executing a red maneuver, the owner moves the ship as if it were assigned a white [straight 2] maneuver instead. The speed, bearing, and difficulty of this maneuver cannot be changed.

(Since it's a white manoeuver, you do not get another stress)

This^ before this current faq change it used to be opponent chooses your maneuver.

So they don't choose your monuvour anymore?

No

It use to be that if you revealed a red maneuver while stressed, your opponent got to pick a new move on your dial. It has since been changed to where you instead do a White 2-Straight.

Sorry if i confused the issue, I sometimes add these timeline clarifications in case you hear it across the table so you get where your opponent is getting his reasoning from.

Often knowledge like that can defuse hostility around the table, particularly at tournaments.

The OLD rule used to be, if you dial a red maneuver while stressed, your opponent got to choose what you did instead. This was all well and good in the days before one could apply stress effects in the activation phase. NOW, however, since there are ever more ways to cause a ship to receive stress AFTER setting its dial but BEFORE executing it, it's been changed to be a standardized two-straight. Some ways you could do this:

  • BoShek forces a stressed opponent to switch to a red maneuver
  • A Spacetug Tractor Array can push a ship into a debris field before it moves
  • Saboteur turns a face-down card face-up:
    • Thrust Control Fire gives a ship stress before it reveals a red K-Turn
    • Damaged Engine turns a hard turn red that was supposed to be white (or green)

Bo Shek explicitly allows stressed ships to do reds.

And you forgot the biggest one, which is Rigged Cargo Chute.

Hah, literally! (Isn't it the biggest "standard" obstacle in the game thus far...?)
