Sato is fired. In my quest to make him do what I need I came up with a good squadron build for 108 points. Now that Dodonna has his chair I roided up my squadron ball. I am thin on activations but I want to blow Empire ace combos off the table like chaff.

Many bothans died.

I guess the big questions here are

-tweak out the tractor beam to move the mc80cc to an mc80ac?

-shave some points for comms nets or perhaps swap out the vanilla x-wing for Nora Wexley? I have lots of killing power already so this is tempting

-are these optimal objectives? I love minefields with Dodonna and VCX's and Fighter Ambush could be a killer (I don't even care that I am not great at bombing here the positional shenanigans are intoxicating to think about) but my red is good but maybe not the best. I like Jamming Barrier but after last night's game I think a lot of practice is called for to get the most out of that one.

Yes, with just one Q7 it won’t really do much, and upgrading to add ECM will make it much more survivable. I’d also switch XX-9 to quad batteries for an extra blue at long range

Your flagship would definitely appreciate a comms net to pass it tokens. As far as your squad loadout, I think you are at the bare minimum number of escorts to make Biggs actually worth it. You also have no source of Intel, do you plan on just blowing through enemy squads and THEN bombing ships?

For objectives I’d go Most Wanted (boring I know), Planetary Ion Cannon/VIP/Contested Outpost, and definitely Sensor net with two strategic units. I always try to pick objectives that give me extra points as second player

I will see what I can do. With Raymus and Engine Techs I can get that boat to haul tail hard enough that sometimes it's just the little extra gas I need to matador a big nasty. It's also good for making a Jerjerrod ecehelon trip on each other. In a game of positions I find it intoxicating. I love where your heads at with more than one, I will have to write a double mc80 list with two and call it the Ring of Fire.

I find in the world we live in where Sloane happens ECMs are a waste. I find lately I either face her or Avenger or both and I am learning to live without.

Raymus makes that thing muscular. I do like a comms net and this is the first time I have built without. We shall see.

Am I planning to kill fighters? Yes. Yavaris shreds hard when it was just Biggs, 2 X-wings and VCXs. If I face a lot of squadrons I am going to kill them because if someone brought that many then they want them to do something. If I face moderate squadrons I am going to kill them fast and them bomb away for 3 or 4 turns.

If I face little to no squadrons i can live with the bombing ability I have. That's only one scenario out of 3 where I miss Nora.

Just did a quick rewrite with MC80 ac with QBTs, the dropped Tractor Beam and swap of Biggs for Nora paid for the switch from command to assault carrier, took Most Wanted for red.

I like Minefields with Dodonna and VCXs, it should soften the blow of having less drops. I am drunk on Fighter Ambush shenanigans.

Edit: Fighter Ambush out for Fire Lanes. VCX abuse incoming.

Ill second that an assault with QBT, Leading shots, ECM and RBD is pretty primo as a second player ship. It also opens up advanced gunnery as a deadly objective, perhaps even better than most wanted.

Where to conjure 6 points though?

I guess the first spot to look would be a cheaper replacement for Han...

Edit: Han out for Jan Ors. ECMs added to MC80. I will miss Han's heroics but hot ****, this list is cookin now. Got tempted by Most Wanted because it works for bombers also but yeah, Advanced Gunnery is dirt mcgert. Eager to throw this list at the wall now. Thanks guys.

That’s probably where I’d take the points from... you can drop Han to Luke and still have a great target for Adar/Yavaris

Went for Jan instead. I still have a 1 point Price is Right bid lol. Nora will get more play this way and my escorts will be tougher.

You made the right choice: MW does not work for bombers. First errata of the game.

FAQ pg 2 OBJECTIVE CARDS

Most Wanted
The Special Rule for the “Most Wanted” objective card should read: “While a ship is attacking an objective ship, it may add 1 die of any color that is already in its attack pool to its attack pool.”

So far so good. I have won twice with this list, both tight victories that could have been big ones if it weren't for a couple screwups or comically bad rolling.

I would add Torryn in... She makes all squads better.

I am a little torn on what to give up for her. Jan downgrade to Hwk maybe? I have thought of it but it clicks pretty good as it is.

Also not sure where to put her for best effect. I like being able to kite my Gr-75s (the comms net less so but even it isn't necessarily in Torryn Farr range) and Yavaris isn't always -that-close to my squads oddly enough.

Change Norra to Gold Squadron or Green Squadron. Gold overall is going to be more reliable bombing (reroll with Toryn and BCC) while Green is a pretty much equal trade as far as bombing and squad to squad goes, just loses the def tokens (should be hiding behind X-Wings anyway) and ability to gain a lot of flexibility in the form of speed 5. I would personally go with Gold.

Norras ability - while excellent - is far and away better for B-Wings than it is for X's and Y's, who comparably have a lower chance to crit.

That gives you 5. Ditch coms net and put toryn on that flotilla and you are set. Or ditch antilles and put her there and keep the bombing set. Antilles is 7pts and only about as effective as the 2 pt coms net.

All good with me, no one is gonna offend me by not taking a suggestion. You were looking for points to add toryn, thats how i would do it. End of day though, its your call and you are the one that knows what you are gonna get the most mileage out of in your fleet.
