deck lists

By Rwik, in Star Wars: Destiny

Hey all, I know there are some deck lists here but being new I am looking to get as much info as I can and was wondering what other sites may have some information? I have bought 2 boxes of Awakenings but have yet to get any of the other 2 xpacs (also got the Legacies 2 player but still pretty limited). I am seeing, so far, that I am woefully short of anything that is competitive at this point. I tried a mono blue Kylo/dooku deck but I felt like it was clunky and not at all effective (also I am new so I am sure my play ability is not great yet but you get what I mean).

Anyhow, any suggestions and input?? Thanks!

Cardgamedb has deckbuilding and access to other decks people have built, so thats a reasonable place to start. Theres also facebook groups and podcasts all over the place.

Believe it or not the 2 player starter is not bad for competetiveness as Rey/Poe (both elite) pair well together, although to truly give it a strong competetive edge you will want some events, supports and upgrades from Spirit of Rebellion and empire at war... but even with awakenings you can put a few things in there to give it an edge - focus on getting shields and upgrades on Rey, but Poe with his blaster is dangerous.

Failing that it all depends what cards you own...

Thanks for the reply! I did find the cardgamedb site but I noticed other than the Pax events none of them have much reviews/information on success. Being new, it's difficult to differentiate between a good deck and something that is just thrown together on a whim, so I tend to like the reviews and feedback that many of the posted decks tend to not have.

As far as the FB groups, thanks! I will go look around for those. Do you happen to have a couple in mind that you would care to share? I will admit I am more drawn to Jedi/sith type decks but again, I seem to be pretty limited in game knowledge and collection lol

Look for the ones that have additional information and commentary (it's one of the icons - the green "word bubble"). I've found that they are the ones most helpful to new players (at least they are to me). If you already know this information, my apologies. I'm a novice at Destiny, and not the greatest at all of the ins and outs of the interweb...

Theres a closed group on facebook called Star Wars: Destiny thats got about 12000 people on it and is worth the occasional scroll through.

Whatever your local gaming stores pages are they might have a star wars or destiny spin-off group.

Theres also one called "star wars destiny discussions". Which I'm not in but a mate of mine is. He says it's one of the better ones for actually talking about decks (other groups are often more general).

I would recommend Star Wars Destiny DB for net decking. You can sort by popularity, cards used, post date, etc...

For Rey/Poe you can search for decks using them and look at what cards people are trying.

I would also recommend looking at the existing communities. Face book, knights of ren, tiny grimes, and the infamous hyperloops.

They will usually talk about what they think is good/bad. Take it as you will. They have all had right/wrong calls in the past.

Other than that, build a deck with the cards you have and play test. Best way to improve. If you end up discarding that card to reroll 9/10 times it might not be consistent enough to be competitive.

Tons of deck lists, deck building (including tracking your collection so you don't try to build something you don't have the cards/dice for). The better deck lists include "manuals" on how best to play them.
