I keep wondering if the Core Set is going to be out for Christmas shopping season or not. Seems like it would be a big miss if it wasn't, but here we are staring down December and no announced street date. Whats your best guess?
Will the Core make XMas?
Anything is possible but from what I've heard. Star wars Destiny and X-wing are going to make it out in December. That probably means we won't see Legion until around February. You could ask for terrain for Xmas. Games workshop has some cool tree sets. I'm seeing some places making more Star Wars related Terrain.
Is q1 2018 before xmas...............?
I think some preorder stores are starting to quote feb, but at a best guess and not based on info.
Where did it come up that they were even going to try?
Every official word has been 2018 for Release. Since the first proper official word, other than Alex Davey on day one saying they were trying - very unofficially - , and then correcting himself the next day...
No chance whatsoever, 2018 for sure.
My guess is February or March release
It’s still at the printer, and usually the boat takes about 2 months to get here. So no, Christmas is not happening, barring access to a hyperdrive.
Yes it will be out before Christmas of 2018. Well before.
But what about Armada?

What, is this apply-salt-to-wound time? The next wave of Armada is still 'In Development', and while they suggest Q1 of 2018, I'm pretty sure we won't see it until well into Q2.

QFT
My bet is April/June
The Runewars Miniatures core set had a 19 week turnaround from printer to release, which would put Legion in early February.
Holiday crunch and on the boat shipping time can induce a lot of variance, though.

This is the internet, if someone says something that we want to happen, it's a rock solid unbreakable promise and failure to live up to that promise is not only a slap in the face it's a betrayal on the deepest level, and a way to fleece us out of more money somehow.

See “Indignation, Righteous.”
Judging from Armada's release schedule...perhaps christmas 2018?
