Star Wars Legion painting and extra bling!

By bulldoguk, in Star Wars: Legion

And here we go on another roller coaster ride to the bottom of my pockets!
Started some scenery in prep for it's release :)
hut an vaporator are from the Imperial Terrain 3D printed range of buildings, scatter scenery and extra bling from my Imperial Assault compatible range, it crosses over quite well!

Looking good. Always nice to see pretty pictures. I think I'm gonna order some of Imperial Terrain's stuff, it all looks nice.

nice dewback mit stormie!!

Painted up a few more buildings and have been playing in the sand pit again! Once again, buildings from Imperial Terrain and all the scatter scenery and other eye candy from Combatzone scenery, miniatures from the depth of my figure case. That land speeder is my first 3D print btw!

Very cool! That's a great diorama.

Did you buy those pre printed or diy it?

Your buildings and scatter terrain have turned out fantastic. I've bought all the Terrain STL files from Imperial Terrain , and I'm in the process now of printing many of them. Do you happen to have a tutorial or suggestions on how you got them painted up?

Great work!! do you use an airbrush on the buildings?

Buildings are prints, all the scatter scenery is hand sculpted and cast, a lot of it is also from our Imperial Assault range

I have the STL files now too, it was surprising to see a few things not on the site OldschoolEmpire, going to enjoy printing them for a little variety, stay tuned for another session in the sandpit sometime soon :P

Buildings are airbrushed, the buildings are given a few coats of textured spray first, it does a good job of hiding all the evils of 3d printing and happens to work well on this sort of stuff. If you take a look at the unofficial legion terrain site on facebook I bobbed a quick guide on there last week, I'll follow it up with a little more detail once I get round to painting some more buildings :)

I'll take a look at the site. I've been busy printing and need to start getting my stuff painted up, I have an airbrush, that I've usually used for base coats/ priming miniatures, but I'm pretty excited to finally get to use it on some terrain.

Another technique for hiding imperfections in a 3D print, is to brush on a coat of watered down Wall Filler/Spackle/Joint Compound. It goes on easy and when dry really gives that concrete look and can be painted in a variety of ways. This technique works well on foam too to achieve either a stone or concrete look.

Amazing work on all your pieces. I really like the landspeeder. I have been looking for one that is the right scale. Great job on painting it too.

Where do you live? I want to play on your board.

yea love the landsoeeder!

Speeder was a freebie from thingiverse, just scaled it up to about 90mm length to look the part :)

Absolutely awesome diorama. One of the best Star Wars displays I've ever seen. Well done.

Oh man! That's rad! Love the explosion on AT ST!

Created some more scatter terrain for Legion, this escape Pod would also make for an interesting objective I reckon!

Droid attack on a rebel weapons cache! Couple more Imperial Terrain buildings finished. Added a little more texture to these (just decorators filler applied with a stiff brush). Lighter than the previous buildings for a little variation and a little more rough around the edges as these hail from the more seedier quarter!

Awesome work! i need a 3d printer....

My God man, Everything looks amazing!

This all looks great, truly great.

Not to detract from your amazing work, but wouldn't it be not very effective for the farmers to have their moisture vaporator adjacent to a water fountain? ;)
