Just for the fancy pics, as chuckknuckle says, sand on a board in normal circumstances is bloody ridiculous. I hail from the days of Rogue Trader, I have seen what a sand textured board can do to painted miniatures and it's the stuff of nightmares! Saying that is was super easy to clean up, just fold up the mat and pour it back into the jar, very Zen...unless you sneeze

however if you want that sort of look fine grain kiln dried sand sprinkled over the board is surprisingly gentle to miniatures it would just get EVERYWHERE in normal gaming circumstances it does look quite cool (in a hot way deserty way) though!

HWK-290 light freighter legion scalish finished! Another 3d print project ticked off the list ? ths was actually an x-wing scale stl from thingiverse which I simply scaled up, chopped to fit on the print bed then added a little detail by hand to fill out the plain areas. Printed a base so it can zoom around with the other ships. Cobbled together a set of gear from falcon gear and 40k gunship parts which simply click on with magnets. The wings are hinged so they drop down when in flight

So I gotta ask, all the internal parts for your Falcon, did you 3D print them or scratch build them? Are they available for purchase anywhere? I'm 100% in love with the idea of using the Deago Falcon as a gaming piece for narrative games of Imperial Assault.

'Moldy Crow' submits to a goods inspection by imperial forces. Landing pad by Imperial terrain, its modular and can be expanded with the additional leaves. I sliced off the ladders on the supports before printng save to e and i also plan to scratch build a central loading ramp, unless Dave beats me too it and saves me the hassle ? radar tower and the little guard building are also IT and although not meant to go on the pad i think look pretty cool!
Easily large enough to take a light freighter, 2 or 3 ties and even our favourite bounty hunter dropping off his latest catch! Gun towers are free files from thingiverse

Seems the Rebels have plenty of air support to be going on with for now so let's start filling out the Imperial fleet...

You should be working on movie sets. Maybe we'd have less CGI and more modeling, which I prefer!

Dave over at Imperial terrain has very kindly allowed me (combatzone scenery) to create some castable versions of his fantastic printed terrain. I started with the basic buildings and ruins by adding texture and the odd greeble her and there as well as floors and other things

Nice option to buy ready textured if you either don't own a printer or don't particularly like the finishing work involved with 3D prints

Generators and cannons! trenches are actually from our 15mm tanks range but I think they work quite well!

Finally splashed a little paint on the recent wave of legion figures too

palpatine visits Rondo's Market in search of Jedis and a new pair of comfy slippers!

Rondo's market from Imperial terrain, I painted up a little duck canvas and made some little market stalls to make the place look lived in the little markets stalls available in our legion range over at combatzone scenery

Created a smaller version of the Reaper from a printed body (with detail added by hand) and the wings form the Tie striker toy, let's call it the Tie Sabre!

Also created some damaged versions of the power gens, much better to show something for all that hard work rather than a 'destroyed' token!

A couple of X-wings escort a K-wing on the way to hand the Empire a can of kick *ss!

Started work on the Ghost. slightly smaller than it should be as its supposed to be bigger than the falcon. Personally it just doesn't 'feel' like it should be that big so I have compromised for the table and storage, the falcon is probably a little too big anyhow as it's the 1/43 studio scale model so it all evens out

Printed and now got to fill sand, repeat then add all the post print detail by hand, should be a fun project!
