Campaign - Deployment of figures in a group on multiple spawn points

By Trevize84, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hi,

Can the imperial player deploy a group, in example Stormtrooper, spreading figures in the group among different spawn points?

Thanks.

The RRG suggests and the latest ruling is that all figures from a group are deployed to the same active deployment point.

When reinforcing, each figure is reinforced and thus placed separately.

Latest ruling? This feels like a change to me.

Has it ever been different? All discussions about it have not come up with anything suggesting multiple deployment points during deploying a group of figures.

"he deploys all figures in that group to any active deployment point." (singular point)

The intent of the original designers may have been to be able to choose any active deployment point for each figure separately, but this has been the consensus by RAW.

No opinion or concern about 'original designers' or any previous discussion is needed.

Per FAQ, page 11, under 'Rules Clarifications', 'Deployment':

"During a campaign, when a group is deployed, all figures of that group are deployed to the same point unless otherwise specified by the mission."

Oh yeah forgot about that rule. Since Jabba's Realm introduced split deployment I must have gotten mixed up. Haven't played as the Imperial player for a while.

@Tvboy what do you mean by "Jabba'realm introduced split deployment"?

@a1bert @--JP thanks for clarification. I feel this rule a problem for imperial. We rebels are able to clean up spawn points in 2 activations with Fenn set up for blast and Shyla set up for cleave. Our imperial got a group of HK droids (8 threats) killed in one attack from Shyla during the interlude of Jabba's Realm. They spawned already dead. I feel this unfair.

Rebel Elite Fenn, Masterstroke Gideon, and Bacta Radiator MHD-19 are the most "broken" combos.

One answer: Hired Gun group.

HK Assassin Droids have only 5 Health, they are very fragile. Heavy Stormtroopers are better.

I don't feel Fenn broken anyway. Blast is very situational and you will find yourself using it very few times if the imperial does things wisely (of course blasting on the spawn points is a sort of unfair behaviour, I feel like figures adjacent to a spawn point should be immune to blast and cleave until the imperial activates the first group of the round). Also Masterstroke isn't that OP, unless mission objective get broken because of it. I haven't used MHD-19 but I'll do it soon or later :)

What has been changed with jabba?
