See-through doors

By ManateeX, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

In the campaign mission "White Noise" and several others, there's a mission rule that allows rebel figures to essentially ignore doors when they're adjacent.

Quote
  • A door adjacent to a Rebel figure does not block his movement, line of sight, adjacency, or counting spaces.

That's pretty self-explanatory from the rebels' point of view, but what about during an imperial figure's activation?

If a rebel figure is in a space adjacent to a door, can an imperial figure on the other side of the door attack them? Relevant passages from the RRG:

Quote
  • Figures have line of sight to adjacent figures.
  • For a melee attack, an eligible target is any hostile figure adjacent to the attacker.

Similarly, can an attack targeting a 'see-through door' blast the rebel on the other side?

Quote
  • ...each figure and object adjacent to the target space suffers damage equal to the Blast value

So I guess the question could be rephrased as: "If the door does not block a hero's adjacency, does it also not block adjacency to that hero"?

See also the other missions (from the core) that use similar rules for either rebels or imperials. I read it as "does not block his movement, his line of sight, his adjacency, or his counting spaces."

Agreed, but what does "his adjacency" mean? If an attack with blast targets the space on the other side of the door, is he considered adjacent to that space? (since "each figure and object adjacent to that space" suffers damage).

The mission rule would not apply to abilities of any figures not matching the condition (rebel and adjacent the door).

(One example would be Gideon and Called Shot not working through a door on other rebel's attack unless Gideon is also adjacent to the door.)

Thematically I treat it as the Rebels, being inside the base, are able to open the door just long enough to take a shot or two and then close the door before the Imperials can return fire.

If a Rebel adjacent to the door shoots an adjacent Imperial, they will take any Blast damage.
