So about LOTA

By Zrob314, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

So, LOTA is a box.

It has a component list on page 3 of the rule book.

Page two has instructions on how to download the app (Just like Mansions of Madness and presumably Descent 2nd edition). If this guide was electronic only then why would if have instructions to download the app you've already got because you're reading the book.

There's some stuff missing from the component list that skirmish players might notice.

Command Cards

Skirmish Guide

Skirmish Mission Tokens

An initiative token

Presuming that the LotA box is geared toward new players (it has nothing an existing player doesn't already have) then how is a new player supposed to try or get into skirmish?

Just asking questions.

I also answered you in the campaign thread, but I'm like 99% sure that there is no physical box associated with the app. There's no mention of this anywhere and nothing points to it except for that components list in the rules, but I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that that list is just there to let you know which parts of the core set you need to use the app.

I mean if they did release a box, who would it even be for? Most people who will use the app already own the game, and for brand new players it would be way better for FFG to sell them the entire core set that already exists.

This application is only for campaign method, not skirmishes ...
They also say that they are not the same missions as in the physical boxes,
but they have varied the missions and I suppose that maps ...

Yeah this is just an app.

GAME OVERVIEW

Legends of the Alliance provides a cooperative mode of play for Imperial Assault and its expansions. In Legends of the Alliance, one to four hero players must work together to overcome the challenges presented to them by the companion app.
Legends of the Alliance uses the majority of the physical contents of the Imperial Assault core game. In general, the app tells players how and when those contents are used, as well as controlling the enemies and presenting the narrative to the players.
