I want to take a minute to say Happy Thanksgiving to this small, but great community. This year I am thankful for FFG giving us this great game and also to all of you providing additional content like podcasts.

Yeah, it's pretty garbage, and full of people, making it even worse. Apparently it has also traveled to Europe

Can confirm. The retailers have figured out it gets people spending more money, and over the past few years they've been promoting it like crazy. Which is a little silly as we don't have Thanksgiving, so it's just a random Friday in November.
Although I can't complain about all the miniature retailers jumping on the bandwagon and selling their toy soldiers cheap *cough*

Not sure how important the thanksgiving part is, although it might provide the Americans with the time to spend the money. The Black is as in profit, red is debt, black is profit. The businesses would 'hit the black' at this time, with regards to the ramp up for holiday sales. Hence the name.
