Jagannath points and jail

By amuller93, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So a trandosian ends up in jail losing all of thiere Jagannath points , But while in jail the trandosian kills someone how should that count?

as long as he didn't kill a weak scrawny nobody.

If he found the biggest dude and ripped him apart then I would say he gets some points.

how does ending up in jail cost them their points?

I see.

I guess that depends if he was actually captured or if it was part of a plan. It would depend a lot on the story and situations that we don't know. Especially since the wookieepedia wording is a bit different: " all jagganath points were erased by shame or capture in the process of a hunt ". Underlined part is mine. If he wasn't in a hunt it wouldn't matter from what I'm reading.

I imagine in this was actually captured by the OP's question though. If that's the case he's at 0, he kills someone and get's some points, he's still in jail so he loses them. If he kills someone on his way out, he would keep them I would imagine since he's pretty much starting from 0 not eternally shamed.

There's also nothing in the canon section about losing points. It's all in the legends part. So that would be something the player and GM should talk about because it may not even matter.

(his GM here). He got captured through awesome battle against a legion of foes on a desolate planet, ultimately being grinded down by two decimated squads of Storm Commandos and Death Troopers. If it weren't for the unrelenting nature of religion, I'd say he went down with honor - but Jagannath doesn't accept that.

My five cents, though I'm still very interested in other opinions, is that he'll have to start from scratch, but anyone worthy that he shanks in prison do count, as long as he can avoid further humiliation. But if he gets swamped by prison guards and tasered to unconsciousness or thrown out of genpop, then, sorry, the Jagannath points would reset again. But hey, ain't nobody sayin' prison ain't tough!

The first thing you do in jail is insure the tale of the savage last stand is spread. Then he begins to take over the gangs in jail to get facilitate his escape.

Think the Kingpin from Marvel. Jail was never an obstacle for him and it shouldn’t be for your PC.

Hmm I'm wondering if there's a religious legal loophole. What happens when someone dies/flatlines rather than being captured but is revived in captivity?

I would look at the situation. If the Trando took a disproportionate number of enemies down before he fell.

In that scenario maybe, he is gifted with a vision of the Scorekeeper. The points may go away BUT because of the nature of his honor towards the Scorekeeper he is being given a chance to redeem himself.

in that scenario I would say he did everything possible. NO loss of points.

From what I read in the legends material it doesn't look like it matters. He was still captured alive. But it sounds like dropping to 0 isn't the end of the world, he just has to start over in his accumulation of points.

If you're replying to my question, technically he was captured dead, and then revived already in captivity.

No, more commenting on EE-z98's musings loopholes and trying your best. As far as your thoughts of getting taken out, and then revived I'd say no loss. I'd probably say the same for any Trandoshian that fights to the end, dead or unconscious. But they would have to do everything in their power to escape after they came to. Any acceptance of captivity would be cause for a loss.
