Riekaan Ship Spam

By MandalorianMoose, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So Riekaan is frequently abused via unique squadrons and Rambo fleets, though this has been curbed somewhat since the nerf. I wanted to try him centered around mostly ships, and utilize his ability to hold a key large base in place with one of the hammerheads and have flocked it with the rest of the small ships. Liberty is there to chase down enemy small ships/flotillas.

Obviously could run into trouble vs a heavy bomber list, but increasingly I’ve seen more mixed AA and bomber forces rather than 134 bombers, so hopefully they couldn’t kill more than one ship per turn. Thoughts?

Definitely can work exactly as described, and it's a ton of damage you have loaded up, plus a liberty with ET moving top speed is hard to pin down - but really hard to get on target. Against another msu i as second player it might end up being tough to bring all those guns to bear. A Mothma trc90 swarm would be a pain for this fleet to tackle for instance. Maybe more so than squads since you have enough firepower and speed to chase down and destroy any carriers.

That’s what the Liberty is for. I’ve found they excel at bullying small base ships, as they can chase down anything with effectively speed 4. As second player I just gotta do what you always do as second player, threaten multiple ships are once!

Torn on h9’s on the lib for flotillas or xi7 for enemy mc30’s + comms net with the extra points. Thoughts?

I prefer H9 personally. But if you are razor thin on points XI7 is useful too and gives you one back.

You had much luck with salvage run? Its an objective i dont see much.

I LOVE salvage run. It’s essentially 80 free points, dictates where engagement will be (roughly), AND all my ships get Nav tokens so they can use their first round dial

Interesting, I like the concept of the free navs, but have always been worried about opposing strategic. I gotta give it a shot.

You do run into that issue, although few in my meta run strategic, it’s usually Jendon

I had also been considering solar corona for the deployment advantage considering my lack of squads
