By comatose, in Star Wars: Armada Organized Play

I didn’t see a thread for this regional, so I’m starting one. Family Time Games in Indianapolis may be the best game store in the midwest. I took my wife for a day trip to Indy for her birthday, and we stopped in before driving back. Shane and Sandra are super awesome. I paid my registration feel and I think I was number 18. As much as I’d like better odds to make Top 4, I’d love to see the store have an awesome event and see many of you. @CaribbeanNinja can attest to this venue being worth traveling across the country to play Armada.

Folks, I can't say enough how awesome this store is. My first major tourney was here, and family time does it right. It's worth the trip.

I chatted with Shane briefly this morning. Pre-registration is up to 27 people!

A significant (6-7) number of people from our local in Chicago (including @Snipafist and me!) were planning on coming down to be there.

3 rounds or 4?

How many of those are pre-registered? I posted to the Indy Facebook group to the guy who is helping TO to come answer. :)

When I first talked to Shane about it, he asked about making it two days. If we end up with over 40, seems like two day might be best.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... are there any good hotels in town?

If you guys end up doing it over two days please announce it beforehand. I was planning on coming out but there's no way I'd be able if it's a 2 day event and that's a long drive for disappointment :P

Yeah that would cause big problems for several of us if that happened so I strongly petition the organizers to not make it a two-day event.

Family time games player here. No one is planning on it being multi day event.

I will confirm on wednesday, but it should be a 1 day, 4 round event.

you're my favorite person on this forum for the next hour at least.

appreciate the comment.

Hopefully the Huntsville crew will be there to kick some butt ;)

Is preregistration required for this event? If so can it be done over the phone or internet?

What's the status on this? A friend tells me he called them and was told it would be a 5 or 6 round two day event. If that's true, we need to know ASAP.

Facebooking them currently to confirm.

The last time i checked( back when his post first went up) the facebook page confirmed it was only 1 day but who knows, maybe 200 people signed up(it's as if the midwest could use more regionals or something...).

My buddy told me he called them within the last 24 hours and he's very trustworthy, so maybe he spoke to someone who was misinformed? I would also have to assume that they would cap the pre-registration at a number of people to ensure they would be done in a day or no more than they could physically fit in the store, right?

seems right but if that's the case I'm prob cancelling mine and asking for a refund, I'm not terribly interested in staying there for two days.

right now the page only says one day, 10 to 10. that's earlier than they previously had it but i assume they just expanded both ways to make up for attendance. right now they've only got 22 listed as going and 21 interested on their page. i doubt most of those interested will show up so i can't imagine it going longer than 1 day.

:(

If it gets changed to two days after people prepaid for the event and for hotel reservations based on the advertised understanding it was one day, it is going to reflect pretty poorly on the store. That's about the nicest way I can put that. They're going to have a lot of people who can't swing two days and are going to be pretty upset.

I exchanged Facebook messages with Shane, the owner and TO, this morning, and he said it will be a one-day event.

Store just responded that its a 1 day event. Jesus its like they enjoy ******* with people

I just did the online pre-registration and I have a buddy here in Dayton who will also be registering soon. Anyone have any good intel on the likely number of attendees? Three rounds are fun, 4 manageable, anything else is just torture!
