There is no requirement to trigger the interrupt on this card, correct?

For Crab, it is reasonable to assume that it would be better to allow this card to hit the discard for use with REBUILD.

Personally, I think this card just eliminated BORDERLANDS FORTIFICATIONS.

Unless a triggered ability is preceded by Forced (see Steadfast Samurai), it is always optional to trigger.
