For Shame & Steward of Law

By Akodo Tetsuo, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

Am I correct in thinking that playing For Shame! while a Steward of Law is in a conflict is an automatic bow of the chosen character?

correct

That's absolutely Ridonkadonk! Definitely three of him going in the new Crane Splash. Thinking 3 Admit Defeat, 2 Noble Sacrifice and 3 Steward of Law = 13 influence. Any thoughts?

Mostly correct, if the target is honored they can go to neutral as Steward only prevents them from going from neutral to dishonored.

Voice of Honour could be a good shout too once Gaurd Duty becomes available to play.

When splashing Crane, I generally start with 2 Disdainful Remark, 2 Admit Defeat, 3 Steward of Law, and 2 Political Rival and then adjust from there based on the main clan I am playing, expected metagame, deck strategy, etc.

Yeah, but it also means your opponents For Shame!'s will auto-bow your people too. It's a double-edged sword.

But at least if it's a conflict that I initiate, knowing that I have a For Shame! in hand, it's on my terms. A risk I would be willing to take had I the right stat boosting cards in hand to make up for my bowed character.

When running Lion that's usually where Ready for Battle comes in, assuming that is the main clan he is running his Crane splash in.

Good point!

Also, you are required to say "I am the Law" in your best/worst Stallone as Judge Dredd voice, whenever you play this combo!

Haha! Duly Noted.

My Finger of Jade, Censure, Voice of Honor, and so on are useful against that little move. Or Goblin Sneak if it looks like the Crane is keeping back some Fate :P

How are you liking Disdainful Remark? I haven't been feeling it. I'm considering Kakita Blade to go with Policy Debate and Way of the Cherysumatmoition.

It was a long story between my memory, my cards being too far away in the next room, being too lazy to go onto 5ringsdb, auto-correct failing me, and wondering what Shinjo Altansarnai would call her child if it has a name beginning with the letter "C".

Actually, that is the story right there. Pretty much writes itself.

So, a short story.

Shinjo Cantsayhername?
