As it says on the tin. Isn't this a bit silly?

Pretty sure there's actually like 50 threads on the app since FFG floated the rumor over a year ago with a subsequent comms blackout.

Basically every other week a new thread would be made basically saying "I heard there's an app for this game, anybody know how it works / when it's coming out?", and FFG refused to make a sticky post about the app's non-existence to prevent this from happening, most likely to avoid killing the semi-flaccid hype they had created for their phantom app.

Well now that we finally have that information, everybody who ever made a thread can go necro that thread and be like "hey everybody I found some info on the app to share with everyone, I'm so helpful, you're welcome." Good forum management in action.

Honestly, shouldn't we be able to manage the threads ourselves just a bit? I mean, it shouldn't take a mod to do something as basic as grown up people (and I'm sure some teens too but we can all act like adults) not posting on every thread talking about "The App! The App!"

At the same time, I'm wondering if someone actually put together a good thread that had a great intro to the app, that there's gotta be a way to request it be stickied? I mean Fizz got the rules/tourney map thread stickied in the rules forum.

Then again, we can always just flood the forum with threads about why there are so many threads about threads... I kid, I kid, especially since I commented on it

But seriously, one is a necro'd thread (understandable and it's only one), one is an actual thread pointing out the announcement, and two are questions about the app (one genuine and one I'm guessing isn't), and then there's this one.

And I'd sooner have a sticky about why all the IA is unavailable on FFG's website...this game has to be dying.

Edit (apparently, I was only looking in the general forum because I don't go over to the campaign forums that often, so sure there's more app threads there too but my above numbers were for the general forums app threads).

It would be nice if we could all try to focus discussion on the app in only one of the threads, though.

You did great! If we can sticky any thread I'd argue for it to be yours and just include some extra stuff in the main post - just consolidated answers to questions and links to the rule book and that one post someone did with a bunch of the highlights of the rule book differences.

Yeah, I mean I'd 100% argue that @werdnaegni 's thread should be the main one, and the other threads should just be abandoned (since we do have the app announced now) once people have their "I toldja so"s out of the way.

Didn't Descent get its own sub forum for its app?
