Yet, you quoted me. I find that more salient than grammatically analyzing the use of “we”. Besides, I’m not judging the book, while you, oddly, are judging people. Or at the very least they opinions.

I'm sorry you feel judged by me, that was not my intent. It felt like the best point in the conversation to interject a reality check. Let's move on.

It’s no biggie, good sir. It can get frustrating to read/convey proper context online. What’s most important is that even though there may be friction at times, we’re all here because of what should be an amazing game.

Something about tones actually got me more excited than anything else thus far for the game.

To be fair, super heroes tend to be extremely difficult to do in P&P RPGs. People often want to play teams like the Avengers or Justice League. Powers for those characters can have a huge range. This really doesn't work well.

When you have one player as a street level and another wanting to be a god, it can become very difficult to balance the challenges and make them all feel useful. Having everyone in the same power tier helps but even then, the usefulness of a character can range greatly based on a power and how creative a player can be.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Genesys does with super heroes but I doubt it will do anything to impress me. I've seen a lot of RPGs designed to play as super heroes and most of them are pretty bad. Many of them are among the worst P&P RPG mechanics I've seen.

While I think the Justice league might be difficult (simply because of Superman) I do think the Avengers are very doable. The setting would be modern mixed with Fanatasy mixed with Sci Fi. With the Super hero Tone, because it is a tone even the normal guys will seem "super" in stuff that they aren't like Black Widow she isn't "super" when it comes to her combat skills but hand to hand is double damage in Super Hero tone because every super hero knows some kind of martial arts or super strength that said let's use the system to make each character.

Super strong characters in this campaign can lift half their brawn in Sil as simple difficulty increase difficulty by 1 every Sil higher. (this may actually still be too high as we don't really see the team lift anything larger than a small jet).

Tony Stark. Super Intelligent/ Mechanical genius. Can probably be Intellectual archetype Human that has some Sci Fi Specific Career. In addition because he is a super mechanic their might be reductions in the difficulty of mechanics checks for him he probably starts with the Mental tools talent and when crafting to suit he puts some "magic like" crafting into it so his una-beams are Magic attack based on Int, flight is another "magic" based on agility till he gets used to it and can then do so with a maneuver using "piloting" to probably do more complex maneuvers. Finally the suit has soak and increases his brawn by 1 and gives him Super Strength while he wears it. His other super power could be super rich so as long as he has access to his bank account he doesnt have to worry about funds to build stuff which may be linked to Presence as his other super attribute.

Thor. Super Strong, weather based magic and flight, Magic Hammer that allows him to cast flight as easy difficulty, increases the range and damage of his lightning spells without increasing difficulty to cast them. Thor is basically done right there, magic probably based on Will so probably need Will as the other Super Attribute.

Hawkeye. Super accurate. Has Agi has his super attribute, starts with Sniper Shot as one of his talents firing at Minions is always simple and decrease the difficulty of firing at Rivals and Nemsis by 2. second attribute probably Int and he can craft "sci fi" arrows for his bow.

Bruce Banner. Super Intelligent/ Medical Genius. Much the same as stark but instead of Super presence its Super Will. Will is used for his "transform Magic" it's an ongoing "magic" (it's science but you guys get the idea) that if he loses control he loses super Int and his Int and Will drop 3 points and his Brawn is increased by 3 and he gains Super Strength. He can make a Hard check (or maybe a Daunting check) to use transform magic to change into the beast at will.

Steve Rogers, Super Athletics/ Coordination and slight healing factor. Super attributes are Brawn, Agi and Presence. He does not have super strength but Super Athletics allows him to remove 2 difficulty dice from all athletics checks, same with Coordination and the Slight healing factor allows him to remove 2 difficulty from Resilience checks and he may also use Resilience once per encounter to heal wounds as if he did a medical check Also he has the shield which I am sure you guys could figure out how to craft. The Super athletics solves the "level of super strength" problem you typically see with Rogers, he doesnt have super strength like Thor or the Hulk but his athletic capabilities are far beyond that of a normal person. In this case let's say he wants to rip a vehicle door off it's hinges and use the door as a shield you would probably say "impossible task, so 1 red 4 Purple" but because he is "super athletic" he removes 2 of those purples and it becomes very doable for him. The "average" check for him would be garanteed to succeed.

Lastly would be Natasha, but her's could be all over the place typically I think "super spy" so I think the Super attributes are Cunning and ???? she probably lowers the difficulty of checks to Deceive since she is so ridiculously good at it, but honestly there are all kinds of arguments to be made for what her "super power" is.

I think alternate forms is another stress-point for generic systems, and can be done well or poorly. IIRC there has been mention of werewolves and vampires, too, so I’m hopeful they’ve addressed alternate forms, varying power sets and associated pricing.
