How Are Your Dice?

By Hawkman2000, in Star Wars: Destiny

We’re a year into the game and when it first dropped there was talk about dice quality. People found dice would get scraped or scratched even with just a few games.

Now that we’re a year in, what’s been your take on dice damage? Do you have dice that are now painfully illegible due to scratches or are they still minty fresh after dozens/hundreds of games?

i dont think any of my dice are scraped or dinged and they usually are only rolled on a mat but sometimes they roll off the table and bounce on the tile floor for awhile.

As far as I can tell the only dice I have problems with are the ones that had faults upon opening the booster pack. I wouldn't say any are showing much wear and tear on the faces and I have played on all sorts of surfaces.

My Luke Dice are getting pretty well dinged up and the shield side on one of them is almost unreadable at this point unfortunately.

Personally I haven’t lost a single one to wear.

I had one dice with a scrape upon opening out of approx 350. None of them are showing any wear.

My dice are almost all a little scuffed up from rubbing against each other, because I own way too many of them to be able to afford those fancy felt cases for all of them. They don't look terrible, but they're definitely not mint condition. That's probably because of how frequently I play with them. I don't really think it's a huge problem, but it's definitely not ideal.

+1

My dice all have six sides and round edges, they hate me and like rolling blanks or disrupts when my opponent has no money. My dice hate me so much I can re-roll a terrible roll and get worse.

As such the little scratches they get from being played are far from my biggest problem.

My dice suck.

Visually they seem fine but when they are rolled the faces all change to blanks, or whatever the least useful side is. I don't know what evil magic they're infused with, but it's powerful.

I think the damage sides of my dice are either lighter or heavier than the other sides...because they hardly ever show damage.

It is so bad I have to play characters or upgrades with multiple focus sides just to give myself a fighting chance.

The worst I had was 5 rerolls with E-IG88. Two dice re-rolling 5 times, not one damage side, but 3-4 times I got that crappy pay side and blanks.

I am one of those players that gets a lot of mileage from the blue card, 'Power of the dark side'.

Exacly same issue here.

Back when my collection was smaller I kept my dice in a big felt dice bag and they got a little scratched up from just hanging out in there. I've since moved to tackle boxes and I haven't seen any additional damage, the scratches seem to only show up when a corner or edge of another die is mushed up against another's face and I've removed all causes of that outside of rolling them together.

I have to get new Unkars. His dice are beat.

I feel your pain. I have a General Grievous that refuses to roll melee results. Except for when you try to prove the die is actualy defective, then it rolls melee results!

If General is your only problem dice you are blessed with luck. Just leave him at home and play other stuff. :D

My best to date is 4 re-rolls, the original was 3 blanks and a disrupt, which I then re-rolled 3 times, on the 4th I rolled 4 blanks. Is that my dice telling me to never, ever in a billion years buy a lottery ticket or what?
