Kanan - Fire control system, Twin laser turret, rey, ret spec

Fenn Rau- VI, m9g8, weapons engineer

Captain Rex- Sabines materpiece, tactician, hot shot blaster

The idea is rau locks the 2 biggest threats and uses his ability as often as possible, while rex and kanan do their thing. Hot shot blaster is cheap insurance for keeping rex's condition up in case he gets outflown.

What do you think of sensor jammer on the ghost in co-ordination with new Fenn? Would it be worth it over FCS?

this could work very well... I'm interested to see how it plays.

Possibly. It has the spare points to do it (as printed it's 98).... but my line of thinking is kanan wants to be using his primary where possible, i expect when an opponent figures out whats going on they will attempt to turtle up as well and damage output is...... somewhat lacking.

Edit: oh yeah, also once fen has his locks he can coordinate kanan for an evade anyway.

Expertise, stress dealing effects, predator/dengar/rey, anything that does not involve token spending to modify attacks might be a problem, specially if they go after Fenn first as his defense isn’t anything that special and he will die quickly.

But besides that seems like a pretty cool idea. Let us know how it goes! :)

I'll be the 1st to admit it's going to be weak to stress dealers, but as for the rest it's just a choice of who to prioritize with what.

the list has the potential to remove 1-2 reds off up to 3 attacks in a round, has focus redundancy for kanan in rey and has it's own stress dealer in rex. And that's before you even touch fenn rerolling incoming hits or taking a stress to block tokens. If Fenn gets focused 1st that's good, the hard part is going to be keeping kanan on the board, because offense falls flat after that.....

I love this kind of jank! Just deny everything your opponent would want. Its good that the vulnerability to stress is being recognized, that should inform your flying, but the build itself seems excellent!

hmmm. may have to shelve this till release, now jamming is cheap and bullseyes might be a thing.

A Torani Kulda enforcer with scrambler missiles, a punchy torp and unhinged/k4 astro might be a real pita for this list (kanan in particular)

I think it's good on paper, but in the end you've only got one ship that does damage - Kanan. While he's pretty good, being a Ghost and all, he's an AGI 0 ship with a relatively small amount of actual defensive modifiers. Against a 2-ship list you've got a very good chance, but 3 or more ships spread your disruption too thin, and Kanan will fall. At that point, pretty much anything can beat the rest.

I'd recommend the following tweaks:

Kanan Jarrus (51)
Ion Turret, Sensor Jammer, Rey, Jan Ors, Ghost Title

Fenn Rau (27)
Weapons Engineer
M9-G8
Selflessness
Phantom II Title

Rex (22)
Hull Upgrade, Jyn Erso, Glitterstim, Sabine's Masterpiece

Totalling 100 points.

Swapping to the Ion Turret is largely a meta call - I've personally found it to be invaluable against AGI 1/2 ships, and since you can't get the end-phase double-tap it's not really worth it to go all-out on the turret. Kanan is in his flexible build here - he can get two focus tokens, a focus and evade, or two evade tokens each round depending on the situation he's in, and that's totally without support. Sensor Jammer is truly brutal against munitions lists and plenty of other things that would ruin Kanan's day.

Fenn gets selflessness to help spread around the damage, as going from PS 9 to PS 11 is his only other good-ish option, and it's a distant second. M9-G8 and Weapons engineer is the solid combo we all know and love.

Rex is little bit different, as I had to pad him for points. Jyn feeds Kanan all the focus tokens he would ever need against 3-4 ship lists, and can lend a bit of support against 2 ship builds. Glitterstim and hull upgrade make him a very unappealing target in case he's caught out.

Overall, you have so much damage mitigation it's a little ridiculous. I'm just glad Biggs finally got the nerf hammer before Fenn hit the scene.
