Is anyone else disappointed that the rules for Poison are Honor's Veil style, and not WotS style?

I only play 1st ed and never use the Honor's Veil rules for poison, and felt it was a bit weird when I saw that bit. Were the rules in 3rd or 4th ed similar to these for poison?
