Hi all
I played with a similar fleet to this and am just chasing opinions and ways to improve it. Firstly, I'm by no means a competitive player at Armada, just trying to focus of bettering my navigation skills, and I feel this fleet really forces me to do that.
The fleet I played with today was:
Ozzy's 7
Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 400/400
Commander: Admiral Ozzel
Assault Objective: Blockade Run
Defense Objective: Jamming Barrier
Navigation Objective: Superior Positions
Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)
- Demolisher ( 10 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 83 total ship cost
Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)
- Insidious ( 3 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 76 total ship cost
[ flagship ] Raider-I Class Corvette (44 points)
- Admiral Ozzel ( 20 points)
- Admiral Montferrat ( 5 points)
= 69 total ship cost
Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 25 total ship cost
Gozanti-class Cruisers (23 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)

Arquitens-class Light Cruiser (54 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 61 total ship cost

Oddly enough, when I totalled up the points value in the Android fleet app I came out with a different points value so that's something I have to check up on. Either way, it didn't change the outcome of the games today. The first game, I just ran circles around my opponent and although I didn't scratch his two VSD's, I was able to take out his Raider and Gozanti. Second game however was different and I played poorly and right into his hands only having 4 ships left.
I'm not sure I like the Arquitens, they just don't seem the 'gel' with my play style so I'd be happy to drop them both and add in another Raider. Also, I understand in order to get the most mileage out of Demolisher then I need to optimise the build with some sort of initiative bid. I'd love to add something tanky, but unfortunately none of those options have the speed to keep up with the rest of the fleet.
Lastly, I'm not sold on the objectives. Although Jamming Barrier was really fun to play around with, I'm not sure it provides much of an advantage to my fleet being a double edged sword.
After the two games, I've toyed around a bit and come up with the following which I don't know if it is an improvement at all:
Ozzy's 6
Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 385/400

A lot of changes. I've dropped the Arquitens (and an activation), added a Raider, and added in two Decimators or a tiny bit of squadron presence and I love them.
I've got a decent bid this time for the purpose of Demo shenanigans and have ditched Jamming Barrier for Fire Lanes instead. Still, I'm sure there is tonnes of things which can be improved upon whilst staying true to the speed of the fleet.
Looking forward to any comments.
Thanks chaps.
