I've been all for TIE Scouts since Wave 4.
An Imperial Crew Carrier

Oi! The TIE bomber has some nice curves, it's Optimus Prime crossed with a TIE droid

Fair enough

Shuttle stigma.
The notion is this is a crew carrier without being a shuttle, per se.
I would love to see the Reaper (and Krennic) in the game.

Enter the TIEInterdictorPunisher, the laziest starfighter design in Star Wars.Honestly with the Punisher put before the Gunboat, I can imagine the Cruiser being featured in one of the mobile games and >bam< it's rendered in plastic for X-Wing. Long before something tasteful like the TIE Avenger.
Anyway.
I'd take the scout, and the Vanguard actually. I'm fond of the CCG and these designs didn't seem too crazy out there cut-and-pasted together. I'd buy 'em.
Despite some of those designs in the game, mainly the fact that the Gungans able to deal with the Galactic Empire and counter attack them in any form... @_@ is just....laughable. But The majority of the game is just satisfying to play, even today. My major complaint is Spacecraft are kinda....static.
While The Tie Interdictor//Punisher in the long run is kinda lazy, the fact remains it looks pretty scary in both scale and "lore based" firepower. And while the design is lazy from a real life perspective, its quite a realistic shortcut I can see the Empire's Engineers who are trying to get a promotion quickly and with the least amount of heavy modification, both to the production lines and over all training method for the ship. A experienced Tie Bomber pilot should in theory get into a Tie Punisher and able to pilot it no problem, with only minor adjustments to its over all weight distribution speed and shielding, as well as multi tasking with added weapon systems to balance and keep track off.
Tie reapers for crew and aggressive tactics. Tie scouts for teams. Yes get all those epic teams into the basic 100pts game.

What for? Most of them are useless outside an epic ship.

Personally I think its ugly, but it would open the door for the Rebel version, which looks far more attractive for a ship to field on the table.
After all, it wouldnt be the first unit stolen from Galactic Battlegrounds Saga to be in X-Wing Miniatures
Yes, thats right, the Punisher is the final Imperial upgrade for the Tie Bomber in this game....
Or how bout.....
All of them horrible! I don't think there is a single beautiful ship created kitbashed by Galactic Battlegrounds.

But some are not, AND... they could design more
It would give Empire something unique again, until they of course give it to rebels on better cheaper ships. But in those 6-8 months between that happening, it would be super sweet.

Love the idea of specialist teams being an imperial thing. Overwhelming manpower really is the unifying theme of the Empire after all. ![]()
Got to say I really don't like the Reaper (it really feels the most arbitrary new ship in Rogue One, and rather lacks a distinct purpose compared to all the other non-shuttle Landers/Dropships which are now distinctly cannon.
Also... the empire has been exploding with prominent appearances of vessels capable of moving personel lately. The Stormtrooper Transport, the Police Gunship thing, the Sentinel, the black pyramid hipster shuttle, the cargo shuttle, the reaper, the tie shuttle... Yet BF2 uses huge fleets of Lambda class shuttles as it's standard method for deploying troops. Is that weird to anyone else?

I imagine lambdas as the fancy high end shuttle of the empire. Less cool versions are used by less prestigious operations.
Also it might be a timeline thing. The lamdba replaces older versions.
Might also be a modelling thing. They built very accurate, high-detail models based on original props for BF1, maybe they wanted to maintain that sort of look?
Maybe part of their desire to keep things in theme to only prominently use stuff which appears on a movie screen, at least in their base game.

I don't think Lambdas were every fancy, they're just a standard utility hack, but they are pretty generalized as far as uses go, and so they're very ubiquitous. Compare to say the Sentinel-class made by the same company, which is an armored troop lander primarily. Unless you were actually moving to or from a combat operation, you wouldn't see a high ranking officer necessarily hitch a ride on one.
Remind me what this would do that a TIE Shuttle doesn't already do on one end of the spectrum, or the Space Quadrapeds do at the other.
The Imperials have no shortage of double-crew slots, and even a triple-slot on a rather potent vessel... what they lack is enough interesting crew to put in them.

In non-mini-free merchandizing system, it would provide the expac for said missing crew. Cuz you ain't gonna get 'em with a starfighter, and you ain't gonna get 'em with just bubblegum.

Guess what we really want then is for a new TIE that happens to have a spare crew slot and little else to its name - then we can can get a 2-3 extra crew along with the obligatory EPT and title, and potential missile or whatever.

Um. So I started this great thread about the TIE Scout. I think it will fit the bill.

I was thinking closer to 'less wacky Phantom' rather than a dedicated crew carrier, I guess ![]()
Two-seater TIEs which don't follow the "second man is a weapons officer" rule are fairly rare. The TIE/AG has a backseater, for instance, but he's the turret gunner. The TIE/ph is somewhat unique in that the person in the co-pilot seat can either operate the weapons, or just offer navi and support.

I vote Reaper too.

Which is exactly why the Empire banned pilots from flying with their mother-in-law.
Edited by Darth MeanieTIE Reaper, anyone?
Actually, we already have the Lambda, TIE Shuttle, and UPS.
TIE Reaper is probably another large base ship, of which the empire already has many. This is a request to fit the bill for a bog-standard few frills crew carrier.
The TIE shuttle already does this, but it's yoked to the TIE Bomber platform.
TIE Scout at least could open up even options. Hey, maybe that could be the exclusive imperial slot! Give it some shields too. I'm still for it.
A good question though is what size krennic's T4-C is. If you could squeeze it on a small base, there we are.

Many as in the fewest large ships of all factions?
Lambda, upsilon, deci, slave 1
Uwing, ghost, falcon (x2), outrider, resistance bomber
Aggressor, hounds tooth, punishing one, slave 1, Shadowcaster
The empire has the fewest large ships, and only one of them sees use. We need one that is good.
Many as in more than one, but I can't argue with that point.
