Well not really because defectors are most likely one way because once someone turns on you you really don't care to see them back. a Rebel or Imperial only as far as characters go would be more of a double agent or something that both sides have decide to keep because thy prove useful for the moment and the near future but will likely terminate after they are finished. For technology I could see as some sort of restricted military tech maybe used by the Republic in the clone wars that wasn't available to civilians. But then again explaining how scum can't get a hold of it since they can nearly get their hands on everything from glitterstim to a cloaking device it can prove to be difficult.

Well, in a gameplay > fluff MO, it is simply a card that has a given ability based on the character's lore than can be used by both factions. Defectors are presumably using the same skill set to help the Rebellion that they were using the help the Empire.

In any event, it was simply to note that Imp/Reb could exist.

Dengar, Manaroo? Ventress? Emon Azzameen? Fenn Rau? Old Teroch? That's like 1/4 of all the named scum pilots, right?
And someone might add IG-88 on top, droid rebellion, freeing the slaves and all. ;-)

A bunch of bounty hunters, a mercenary, and the exceptions I already mentioned?

The painting of the ships is awesome.

And the possibility of something like this:

This can't be your card because that would mean the quality of your work is slipping

with that misaligned and incomplete X-wing image, and you're lowering the bar for all of us man.

I'm just kidding. But it was bothering me enough to find the original and do some painting.

A couple protecting each other, a fallen and redeemed jedi who sacrificed herself to protect her loved one, a guy trying to protect his family from the empire and the "exceptions" you already mentioned. Clearly a selfish bunch.

And as mentioned IG-88 with his robot revolution. Now I might give you that one, because his motivations are not 100% clear why he wants to free his enslaved brethren.

Saws group is very much scum, I mean they broke off with the rebellion to fight the empire on their own, there basically a group of mercenaries.

They don’t exactly play along with the other rebels either. Also Makes me wonder how many defectors before bohdi got an extended Boogalet therapy session.

They could very well be a sub-faction for scum, but I think they’ll need some more ships before we could consider them one if ffg went that route.

They could also be our first dual faction pilots that don’t need two expansions to make it that way. Just thinking of the Maul route, Saw could have a similar condition except maybe with Jyn or something.

Doesn't the Havoc count? They have Nym as a Rebel pilot and a Scum pilot.

It's an honest to god camo pattern, canonically, on an X-Wing.

And listen, fighter nerds, we love our dumb paint-jobs and decals. Especially when you have precedent in the X-Wing novel series.

But we're not Japanese Otaku caliber obsessed:

Just for the laughs I want to see someone paint up a fight or their list in weaboo camo.

Imperial defectors would qualify. Agent Kallus and Mara Jade come to mind. Finn wasn't really an Imperial long enough to qualify.

Anyone seeing that in combat is an idiot for not shooting it down several miles out, before it was in visual range.

To be fair, Finn was raised as a storm trooper and spent all of his life as one, unless a book contradicts that. TFA has his image as a child so it would suggest he spent years growing up to be trained to be as a storm trooper, probably spending more time as a member of the first order than Kallus or Mara did as Imperials.

I'm sure I could make a card worse if you remember. ;)

Partisan U-Wing is in a two-part Rebels episode. It's kinda a pretty paint scheme, fairly "dazzle camo" style. I'm personally not super into it though. For X-Wing repaints, I'm greenish Phoenix squadron >>>>> Partisan > Blue Squadron (since the T-70 is a Blue Squadron, otherwise Blue > Partisan).

Ok well now that helps

Regarding all of the "they're mercenaries" no, they're not. Their services aren't for hire. They are freedom fighters. Let's be real, in an actual battle the Partisans aren't siding with bounty hunters over the Alliance. I admit they aren't Alliance proper, but to put them in a faction with no vested political interest in the GCW, is just silly.

Why can't we have all?

1 Blue Squadron X-Wing with General Merrick and pals for pilot cards, 1 Phoenix Squadron (Green) X-Wing piloted by Hera, and a black and white X-Wing just to top it all off. With like 3-4 X-Wing only titles and 6-7 new astromechs. I'd pay $50 for a pack like this.

X-Wing is literally the NAME OF THE GAME, it only makes sense to have as many of them as possible here. Make it happen, FFG!

We want a t-65 fix, Rogue One provided lots of pretty new t-65s, why not push for them both to be released in one neat package? I’ll buy a t-6t buff however it’s packaged.

People who advocate that partisans are scum are straight up wrong. There is no other way to put it.

They are citizens who rebel against the system. They wish to destroy the empire. They are not out for the money and the fame. They don't care about being rich or having power. They care about destroying tyranny the legitimate government.

Fighting dirty and using every available tool does not make you scum. They are desperate rebels . They are not pirates with a goal.

It baffles me how can people go through this much mental gymnastics to make something happen, and not realize that they are trying too hard.

Yeah, that was a poor job with a poor source. But I have a better version planed ;)

EDIT: here we go:

Partisans could arguably be a third Rebel faction. Are there any nice logos for them?

a) The Partisan paint scheme is amazing

b) We all aspire the chew the scenery as thoroughly as Forest Whittaker did in Rogue One.

Proper nouns, such as the titles of organisations, should be capitalised

A faction with 2 ships?

To be fair the FO and the Resistance both started with two, and the Partisans (and Dreamers) are getting a bit of focus in Rebels and various books so might pick up another ship or so.

Isn't that basicaly the resistance at the moment with the Falcon and T-70? Since subfactions are just flavour anyways this should be fine.
