My sentiments exactly. Soontir, quickdraw palpaces just won a national... things are starting to move back into place.

Yeah, seeing low HP Aces like Soontir and Fenn Rau able to reach the finals, let alone winning, is a good sign.

Shadow casters have always been strong, but they also do melt pretty easily. I almost think a crackswarm would have done alright against the winning list, but it would almost never make it to the final table because of harpoons. Interesting meta we have now, which is going to shake up more with the new wave drop.

I wonder if anyone tried the alpha strike lists (Ps 10 for rebel, Ps 11 for empire), and how they fared.

I'd really like to see what the Top 16 or Top 32 was to see how the alpha strikes landed within that range. Along with that, how many of them were Deadeye based vs high PS based.

My only major issue with the game as of right now is that ships with traditional arcs just don’t cut it unless they are an ace or Defender. If FFG can make those ships worthwhile again, the game is in a great place. It’s in a decent enough one now though as is.

I feel like that encapsulates it better. I agree that anything with just a primary firing arc and only shoot primary weapons that isn't PS 9 or higher (maybe 8 via Omega Leader, but still unseen at high competitive level), it doesn't matter these days. Deadeye Scurrgs still a force in the current meta, but only because of missiles.

And because they have a turret slot so at the very least can equip an Autoblaster Turret.

There was a imp swarm with 2 bombers and 3 TAPs all with cruise missles that lost to jess, wullffwarro, lowhhrick in top 16 (I think?).

Obviously not a high PS alpha strike though.

I made the cut at Belgian Nationals with 4 Scurrgs, equipped with LRS. I did have Autoblasters on two of them, they rarely came to use though. It's the amount of lifepoints that did the trick and having four ships which can shoot with an attack value of three. I'm really excited to run 4 Kimogila with maybe R4 Agromech. Anyway... it's not just aces and missles these days imo

I feel like even though you never use it, the Autoblaster Turret creates a zone of control. Low HP ships have to stay out of it which in turns reduces the strength of their shots against your 10 health ships.

Its a good include even if you never fire it because it makes your opponent fly differently and potentially target those ships first

Ventress takes forever to kill though. I never thought of her to melt quickly.

She can, but Ive found Rey does an alright job of pushing damage through.

Sure, when you start stacking up to 5 dice. Even then, Ventress stresses Rey, probably has PTL or Mindlink and has Focus/Evade, not only does Ventress get all the defensive tokens, but she just turned off Expertise on Rey. If anything, Rey is a glass cannon, especially considering how she wants to play the game compared to normal turreted ships.

Depends what you fly. If you're a two-ship list she can be a tank as the Latts & Evade token goes further against fewer incoming shots, but the more ships you have the quicker she drops.

There's a Thweek, Viktor and TBC in there. Love it!

Thweek is popping up everywhere and even won a National. When are some of these podcasts gonna admit they were wrong?

I'm guessing that once regionals kick in to full swing we'll start to see the effects of the FAQ, G4H (and Wave 12/13) start to really emerge. With Thweek (and the Vaksai title) already starting to make an impact, they should be ahead of the curve...

Was there a second Hyperspace Qualifier? If so, does anyone know the winning list?

1. Yes

2. No idea. I haven't heard a peep

I think Tim Hilton won the first one with Miranda, Low, Biggs and Duncan Howard won the 2nd with QuickDraw, Inky, Yorr

Happy Duncan got that 2nd Qualifier Invite. Was a great experience playing against him on Saturday.

Surprised how poorly RAC/lo did during the first two rounds of play overall. Ordinance and 3 ship builds have really placed a cieling on that list unless the player makes basically zero mistakes.

There was a QD/Inq/Vess and 5x cruise in the top 14 and QD/Vader/Kylo Bomber made it into the Top 8.

Cam from Canada also got his on Friday and Alan Fung on Sunday.

I was hoping to draw some RAC/lo for my wookiees, but sadly did not. Especially with Breach Specialist, which can be used to flip down the critical damage card from the I'll Show You the Dark Side condition. I got some quad aggressor TLT and, then I faced "T-70 Bro" who was flying.... 3 T-70s and a T-65, naturally. Then Dengar Asajj. Mistakes were made in my losses, and I know what I did that cost me the game each time. Live and learn. Also, flying sleepy is worse than flying drunk, kids; I saw that on Mythbusters.

Duncan Howard and Alan Fung both went undefeated on Sunday because of a crazy edge case of people dropping, so they both got paired down the last round!

I don't remember Duncan's list (it had a Lambda in it, though) -- but Alan's list was Quickdraw, Omega Leader, and Inquisitor. He had PTL/AT Inquisitor and the typical Juke/Comm Relay Omega Leader, but I forget his exact Quickdraw loadout.
