Had a long drive today, so I was thinking about possible interactions and thought of Gaijin Customs + Seal of the Unicorn. The Seal reads, "Attached character gains the Unicorn clan symbol." Does this mean that the attached character is now technically two clans, or does the newly acquired unicorn clan symbol negate the character's normal clan symbol? And if it is in fact a half-breed, does that mean we can use Gaijin Customs to ready it since it's still partly a non-unicorn character?

My interpretation is that it has to be a non-unicorn character, regardless of whatever it IS. So, since the character would gain the Unicorn clan, you would not be able to ready it because it's no longer a non-Unicorn character.

Bummer. I know the general consensus is that Unicorn's cards are weak, and the new packs haven't exactly done much to reverse that idea, but it's fun to try and discover "hidden" interactions/combos. I do think the game itself will be flavored differently once the Imperial Cycle is completed and there is a greater emphasis placed on obtaining and keeping the Imperial Favor, but it remains to be seen if that will affect Unicorn gameplay in a substantial way.

Just attach a Spyglass to them and you can play all the Gaijin Customs you want.

If this is how it works then you can attach a seal of any other clan in a uni char and use gaijin on it.. seems good.

Except there isn't a Unicorn character good enough to essentially waste a card slot on trying to set up that combo.

A character with Unicorn trait is never "non unicorn." So you cannot add a different clan seal to a Unicorn character to use Gaijin Customs on it.

When you put a Seal of a different clan on a character of a clan, they become 2 clan characters.
