I'm not going to get the game. Partially cuz **** EA, but more importantly because the single player content is too short for me to justify $60, and the space combat is still unbalanced. I could care less about heros and the ground stuff. I enjoy flying around ISDs and CR90s, but my friends have told me the star card issue hasn't been resolved. So I'll wait.

I've been playing for 3 days, all but 1 match online was starfighter assault. I haven't had a single balance issue. Not once. I've lost games and won them, and had a great time doing both. I've come in on top and I have no special upgrades, no full power star cards. I'm all about the star fighters too. I have no idea what your friends are talking about.

I mean, by all means wait, the game is only going to get better with time, but using 2nd hand info to justify it is a bad idea (even if it's mine). Hit up a redbox. It's like, what, $5 a day? Try it for a few hours and make up your own mind.

I played the Beta and was sold on the starfighter mode. I love it.

The best way to apply pressure is for the gaming community to Boycott The Last Jedi. We make up a large portion of revenue, and The Mouse has already scolded EA's CEO once.

You have no idea how happy I am that somebody finally called me out on misusing it. I've been doing it for months now and I know d*** good and well that at least half of the people I've used it around don't get the reference. It's made me thoroughly indigenous at times.

However you are also second hand info and it seems the only way to take a first hand experience is buying the **** EA is selling and hoping they didn't screw me with eventual microtransactions.

2) Battlefront 2 is very fun, it's visually gorgeous, has a short but very entertaining campaign, and it has so many improvements over the last game that I'm honestly really happy to have it! The controversy with microtransactions is unfortunate, but I don't personally feel like any of that drama takes away from MY enjoyment of the game. I believe people are grossly exaggerating the actual benefit gained of someone who buys stuff vs someone who plays the game and unlocks stuff naturally, especially when the game offers craftable loot - so you can just MAKE the item you might have wanted.

My only real complaint right now is that you don't level up classes by playing them, but rather by getting loot. EA already said they are going to fix that though.

I've been following the sh1t storm on Reddit. Very poorly played by EA.

This video explains the situation perfectly. It doesn't make light of the good news that just came up however it doesn't sugar coat it. Caution may contain mature language.

To be honest I hope this became such a disaster Disney goes to EA and does to them what GW did to FFG. Star Wars would be in much better hands if it left EA.

This has been a really interesting debacle to watch. The outrage seems... silly? Maybe I'm just a grumpy old fart but EA being an evil company is a meme literally two decades old by now. It seems like gamers have a very short memory.

Since the 90s they've been buying up various popular IPs and ruining beloved franchises by spamming out rushed messjobs that sell on name recognition alone, and then either do it again a year later or axe the franchise.

And nerds have been angry about it since the 90's. People have been saying EA is literally worse than Palpatine as long as I can remember, but that doesn't mean a goddamn thing if people still buy the game. They've been voted worst company in America on more than one occasion and every year there's a new reddit outrage about it.

But look at their stock value since they've gone public. They do not care how angry you are at them as long as people still buy their games. A bad review on a website or the most downvoted comment in reddit history really do not mean ANYTHING as long as their games sell.
