Sure, why not? Try it and report back.

You have to get a CR-90 in there.

Honourable comment lol

I don't think there's a role for Maul in Scum. There may not even be a role for him in Rebels either, he feels like they got so burned on Zuckuss he was tuned down to a very low power level.

The Ezra requirement is very flavourful but incredibly awkward from a cost-balancing point of view.

I don't think Maul/Wired on Dengar is bad per se, I just think Lone Wolf/Recon Spec is better. Or Expertise/K4, and drop the Unhinged Astromechs off the Y-Wings. I guess if there's near-equivalents which are better, that does make Maul bad.

I saw a cute YV-666 with Maul, Gunner, and Bossk. Maul the first shot, if it hits, great. If it misses, Gunner and Bossk trigger (without Bossk giving extra stress) and you've got Focus/TL. However, It'd probably just be better to run Dengar, Gunner, and any third crew, like Tactician or Outlaw Tech.

I feel like Ezra/Maul might be pretty good on an Auzituck. You've got a strong non-focus/non-TL action you want to take every turn in Reinforce, and having double-mods (even if single-die versions) on an attack is strong. 30 points for a PS1, 35 for a Lowhhrick with DTF or Selflessness, 37 on Wullffwarro with VI for PS 9.

On a Ghost or a U-Wing (or B-Wing for that matter), you can take FCS instead, and something like Hera crew. Maybe if you really, really need a Systems upgrade other than FCS it could work, but I'm hesitant.

I'm starting to convince myself that Ezra/FCS may be an upgrade for a Ghost. You get your reroll mod first time you fire, and it's action-free so you can have Evade stacked the whole time. Plus although you lose Hera you gain the ability to shed stress after a red move, which is it's own perk.

Dark Ghost

  • Lothal Rebel - Advanced Sensors, Ion Cannon Turret, Ezra Bridger, Maul, Ghost
  • Zeb Orrelios - Chopper
  • Lowhhrick - Draw Their Fire, Breach Specialist, C-3PO

Big question marks over whether you're getting enough to be better than Kanan/Low, but it's clearly a functioning build. Plus a Maul-painted Ghost would look badass . With little horns and stuff added? Badass.

If only there was a way to afford Engine Upgrade on that Advanced Sensors Ghost... I mean, Wookiee Commandos + TLT, but that changes the character of the list entirely.

If PS in the metagame drops then you would go Engine/Hera. Advanced Sensors is in to keep you Evading and open up the dial - you can 1 hard turn with Evade, lose the stress, do it again. It's totally droppable, depends if you do enough red moves to make it worthwhile as like a multiple use shield upgrade

Oh, no doubt. I'm just saying, if you can afford Engines too, a boost before moving is also pretty sweet.

I already own two Ghosts so I don't need a third one, but the thought of how awesome a Darth Maul ghost would look is turning me on.

If Maul works on epic ships (which he should, as you receive and discard any tokens, so you can still trigger him), he could become a staple of epic rebel builds.

Maul is tough for Scum, because if you aren't taking advantage of his stress removal, then just take Dengar or K4 crew for the same price. I like Maul on YV-666 cause they can stop or hard 2 and if they hit, they lose that stress. Just stay parked :) Can be something like Maul/Gunner/Bossk to almost ensure a hit. Or for a bit cheaper, Outlaw tech/Dengar/Maul to do a red, get a focus, reroll with dengar and maul strips the stress.

Moralo Eval (34)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Outlaw Tech (2)
Maul (3)
Dengar (3)
Inertial Dampeners (1)

Asajj Ventress (37)
Push the Limit (3)
Latts Razzi (2)
Rigged Cargo Chute (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Shadow Caster (3)

Total: 100

Asajj can attack first, maybe drop an agility. Moralo gets full mod shot. If he didnt do a red, can even use Maul + Dengar for up to 3 rerolls (dengar 2, maul just 1 for a single stress).

Yeah, he’s amazing in Epic for sure.

That’s kinda why I chose Wired for EPT on Dengar. He’ll probably want to reroll 1-2 dice, hits to take away one, Wired benefits for the rest of the round and then an amazing dial to get rid of the last stress.

Yeah, the Dengar is a nice cheapy with wired. And if he gets blocked, at PS9 he can still shoot first to turn wired on with Maul to get defense benefits as well. I like.

Yeah it’s not as good as normal Dengar builds, but the benefit is he’s so cheap.

One weird Wired/Maul trick is if you've got a focus token and roll something like Hit/Focus/Blank, Maul-reroll just the blank. If it comes up hit or focus, spend the token. If it comes up blank again, just Wired the Focus and keep your token for defense.

Couldn’t you also, let’s say you bump and roll Blank, Focus, Focus on offense. Turn Maul on to reroll the Blank then use Wired to reroll the other two?

yeah, its like Fat Han with predator

I just realized, if Dengar is getting a hit and clearing his stress, that awesome jumpmaster dial is wide open every round. Right sloops? Kturns every round ala Defender?

Yep! This idea may actually work. I’ll try to throw it on the table soon.

Ive tried Lone Wolf / Flight Instructor for funsies and was quite impressed. Flight Instructor saved 3 damage from Dengar in that game, with just the one eyeball reroll. Wired/Maul could actually work. Table time next casual day!

I've considered something like a new age Dengaroo/Inaldratanni

Dengar: Title, Attanni Mindlink, Maul, _____ 49pts

Manaroo: Inspiring Recruit, ______ 28 pts

Inaldra: Light Scyk, Attanni Mindlink 14 pts

You got 9 pts to fill in the blanks. Use Manaroo as a "lead blocker or close "wingman" to guard Dengar's Rng 1 flanks. Manaroo can even just focus action and send it to Dengar at rng 1 so he has 2-3 focus tokens depending on his action. So far with the 9 pts, I'd give Dengar Countermeasures/Scavenging Crane (5pts), and then Feedback Array on Manaroo (2 pts) leaving 2 points to fill out Manaroo's EPT and Mod slots. Not sure if it's too much combo to pull off or if it can work.

Well you're missing Punishing One so you need to strip some costs out to get that in I think.
