Heart of the Empire gave us the cheapest strain dealing units yet seen. Perhaps an imperial strain train will be viable eventually?

Great article. I've noticed the strain causing rough decisions in some span oriented lists I've faced, but none of those lists focused on the strain- just had it as a bonus. I think these lists could be powerful on missions with controlling objectives, but I wonder how consistent they will be on crate/speed missions? Thoughts?
Just tested it out on the anchoread crate mission. It's fine for controlling the crate area, and I don't mind picking up crates with the riots when they're too far away to attack anyway. The problem is it's hard to close the gap without really exposing your whole list. It's impossible to get all your riots in position to attack in a round.
IMO, if you want to try a list like this single purpose is autoinclude. It lets you play double flamethrower or double force lightning, which can be devastating. Also, ready weapons lets you place 3 dmg tokens even on 2 figures groups (one figure gets two), so it's still nice to have. It may also be worth it to try BT-1 in order to expand AoE potential and lock down the kills.

I definitely thought about adding Single Purpose to the list. The idea of two flamethrowers is pretty tempting. Especially if you have Palpatine in the list to give you some versatility with the card.
I think the Riot Troopers are going to get into BT-1's way, that's why I didn't include him.
Edited by brettpkellyWrite is enjoyable. I question why element of surprise is not an auto include? With CCs that offer extra movement, why wouldn't you think you could trigger this? Attacks against auto blanks and/or taking Vader down to 1 defense die seem crazy good.

Because sometimes I make mistakes and forget about element of surprise! I'd definitely categorize that as an auto include. Good catch!

Haha, just making sure i wasn't missing something, which I tend to do quite often!
