FFG US vs UK release dates?

By VAYASAN, in Star Wars: Legion

Any experienced FFG fans can guess at this?

This applies to Legion also down the line but I can see Legend of Dragonholt is now showing on FFG as 24th Nov US release. How long after that do the UK retailers normally have it?

I've usually found releases (xwing at least) to be same time here in australia

Maybe they ship out worldwide then rather than it being to US first then distributed from there...

That is Asmodee's Business Plan, in comparison to FFG's previous standard.

Previously, all major shipments went to the US Warehouse first, and were then distributed worldwide. With the consolidation of distribution in the US to a single point (alliance), the state is set for effectively center line distribution where all major distributors - including the internationals - effectively recieve the stock within a week of each other, and then the US release date is set, so it is as simultaneous as possible .

Now, it seems that there is a delay of up to a week on most of those things... And the delay on non-english versions can also waver further than that... But it is certainly Asmodee's business plan to have things released worldwide as simultaneous as possible.

Having played X-Wing, IA, Armada and (to buck the trend) Arkham Horror LCG, I can only think of a couple of times when we in the UK got stuff after the US, and one of those was to do with the rush release of Episode VII tie-ins (or was it the Rogue One stuff?). So I’d say it’s highly likely that distribution of English-language products is expected to be simultaneous. Having said that, I wouldn’t expect them to delay if one region had a hiccup in their network, unless that was at the US end, so be prepared for occasional waits!
