Can you use Han's card if Han is dead?

By ryanjamal, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Would it essentially just be Take initiative without a cost? Or is the requirement that he still be there since his name is on the card? I'm assuming it's the latter but though I'd check.

Which Han's card?

If his command card: command cards are played on a figure matching the restriction box. If Han has been defeated, he's not on the map, and you cannot play a card "on him".

Many Command cards have a restriction box listed above the
ability. These cards must be played on a single friendly figure
that matches the restrictions listed (often a trait or figure name).

Emphasis from the skirmish guide.

In a recent game, I was able to mitigate the loss of Han by using black market prices to sell the command card back for 2 points.

Yeah, I guess I was confused because I hadn't really considered that card as played on Han, but that makes sense. Thanks!

Wouldn't it make more sense if Lando did it?
