Here is info for the Michigan Regionals on Dec 9

Sign up starts when doors open at 11 and go until 11:45 when first round pairings will be announced. 1st round starts at noon. Entry $10. Early sign up is available to help us gauge turnout and setup appropriately. Players can either call or drop by the store to sign up or you can message me directly.

Any player that wishes to use a 1st round bye earned from a SC needs to hand in their card/certificate at check-in. Any player that shows up after 12 will be able to still compete with a 1TP loss for the first round.

Players need to have 2 copies of their 400 point lists and are encouraged to bring along their playmats.

The tournament will be 4 rounds of swiss with no cut(unless 12 or less people show up). There won't be enough time to manage a break in-between rounds, please plan accordingly. If anyone finishes a round early or before start time there are a large selection of take-out and fast food close by.

How much space is there? I'm tempted to make the 5-hour drive, but I'll have to see what the Spousal Officer thinks.

There should be plenty of room for everyone to play without being right on top of each other. The listing has 40 officially, if we get to that point it’ll be a little cramped, right now we’ve got about 20 expected to show so space shouldn’t be an issue

A number of our locals are planning to go. I won't be able to make it - my son will be too young for me to want to leave him for the weekend with the missus just yet. Maybe next year!

As long as there's no snow or rain in the forecast, I'll make the trip. Now I just need to decide whether to leave at 4:30am my time or go up on Friday after work. The former means one night hotel, the latter means two nights.

Updated the OP with entry fee $10, early sign up and some other info.

Since there won't be a break for food, if you grab a bite between matches, catch the bye, whatever. Food and drinks are allowed in the store, just clean up after yourselves and have a cover/lid/cap/etc. for your drink if you are playing in the carpeted section of the gaming area.

Can i write out my copies at the store? Followup: are you going to be collecting tournament data for The Collection or do you want me to do it? I don't mind doing it if you don't want to...

Yeah, I'll have blank list sheets available to do it in store.

I was planning on gathering all that up, part of the reason of needing 2 sheets for everyone, and then I could post results and pass along whatever they need for the Grand Tabulation. Thanks for offering

And you have enough mats? Slash I don't need to bring mine?

I'd say bring them along, it's better to have too many than not enough. At worst they just sit in your car

I'm driving to Battle Creek tonight to break up the drive. Anyone want to do breakfast/brunch before the tournament? I see that there's a Bob Evans just off I-94 down the road. As @BiggsIRL would say, pre-tournament breakfasts produce champions.

Yup, that kicks in at 28. Hothlanta was expecting one of those, but the winter storm down here cleaned about fifteen players off actual attendance.

That's why there was such a disproportionate number of Imperials to Rebels too. Those Rebel speeders weren't adapted to the cold but AT-ATs work just fine.

Just a note to say thanks to @DragonReborn for organizing, this was a great day.
