Liberty Squadron Shenanigans

I have a new list I came up with and need some help with the squadrons, but first let me explain the list below.

I am trying to cheat out some Squadron activations. This starts with Raymus Antilles one a Comms Net Flotilla with expanded hangers. When activated Raymus takes the token and passes it to the MC80L Liberty and activates 3 squads with the Flotilla. Then Liberty activates and with the title gets to activate 2 squads with the token ( in a way this is like getting 2 dials on the MC80L a squad dial and one other) and then Adar Tallon gets to reset one of those 2 for Yavaris. Yavaris then activates 2 or three squads depending if it has a token or not. So that is up to 8 squad activations (One being activated twice). You will see in the list I went with more expensive named squads (8 total). But now I am thinking maybe I should go with Shara Bey, a HWK or two, and a bunch of Y-Wings or something else entirely to boost the number of total squads.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, this is just my second iteration of the list after only 1 match so I know I have work to do.

Why bother with tokens at all....except for the Liason when Liberty needs to pick up the slack of dead/out of range GR's...talk about free activations, here is the final draft of my thread from a couple days ago....

GRs alone can cover activations. Liberty title is contingency plan for when things finally get dirty though. Combat retrofits are specifically for flak.

The OP's idea is pretty cool, actually. It is like a mini-Thrawn on the Liberty every turn. He can CF and push squadrons. That can be a potent combo. Plus he gets the benefit of Dodonna on all those bombers!

Your list is pretty great too, and Leia has become my favorite Rebel commander. But I really like the hack he came up with to leverage the Liberty title.

Problem generally is only 4 activations and 400 pts means you are going to habe a hard time getting a clean shot at a good target.

I think bombers are fun, but it would be way more interesting in my mind if it was a Sato list using the same concept, maybe with a trc90 instead of some squads as a fifth activation and salvation instead of yavaris. Totally different than where you started, but it was just an off topic thought that jumped to mind.

Also, what about Veteran Captain on the Liberty? On demand token for nav team or squad activation. Hondo is also critical when you are playing with lots of token based upgrades but you are out of range of coms or it would meas up your activation order.

Good question, so first I originally had Leia on the other Flotilla so she could do something similar or get an engineering command to the Liberty if it was cued up too late. Second that is kind of why I was thinking of A-wings over Y-Wings because hopefully when that flotilla dies everything is pretty much engaged and A-wings are much better at getting back into the fight and locking down squads on their own if need be. One big drawback to Y-Wings is heavy.

So I agree with much of what you said, personally I have not done well with First Player but I know what you mean. I guess that's why I like big arc ships so I can get multiple ships in arc.

As for Sato, I haven't had a lot of luck with him but I could use Tyco and bounce him in, take a shot, Tallon Tyco, then reactivate next activation and bounce him out. Assuming I haven't flown him out of activation range.

Veteran Captain always feels like a bail out to me, I know Tallon cost 3.33 times as much but I can use him every turn except usually turn 1 and if all my squads die. If I were to go your route and reduce the number of total squads in favor of an activation then Tallon is much less valuable.

Just to be clear on activation order I tried to make this flexible so first turn the second GR75 passes a Squad token to Liberty to bank. Then Liberty can go first in a later turn, use that token, then have Antillies activate and pass the token back to Liberty (or Yavaris).

I strongly support Raymus becoming vet cap and Hondo being added to the other flotilla. Adds redundancy to the key mechanic.
