OK....maybe not EVERY game, but enough of them that it's pretty industry standard. Or...not shocking when it is introduced. It is in Battlefield games that EA also makes, which I play a lot of.

Now, let me talk about EA's Battlefield 1. They have unlocked weapons and config boosts based on playing the game more. I can tell you that all the weapons trade pros and cons. Some are pretty good, but many people still use the basic weapons you start with. EA also did the last SWBF that had unlockable weapons. They all had pros and cons and I felt the base weapons were usually my facorite. Did some have pros that helped in certain situations? Sure, but they also had cons that made them bad in others.

I don't know where you are getting this idea that these bonus weapons will be so amazing.

They either are pointless or situationaly better. It does not matter by how much.

I had a feeling they would defect. I'm only on the first space defense mission, playing on a harder difficulty too. story flows very well, wish the check points were not spaced out so far though.

A while a go Gamers used to play Games,

Now it is the Games that Play Gamers.

You are the Game the goal of the game is to get your money, the players, EA Activision Blizzard, Microsoft... Heck Time Warner and Apple getting on this too with your cable rewards and smart phone apps. In a matter of fact it was the Mobile store that brought all this into mainstream.

lol you posted that on my video too ha ha.

Anyhow - I love the game. I have no affiliation with EA and no reason to say that other than raw impression. I'm having a blast. Even though I spent 20 bucks on crates and didn't get a thing for Bombers, my favorite starfighter.

If you can't see how wrong it is to pay $20 after purchasing it for retail you're part of the problem, your telling the companies that this pay to win formula is fine.

SPOILER MUCH.... ****.

It was pretty obvious they would but come on man.

Also, OP we have a thread for BF2 and in the proper forum -

EDIT- Wow that worked, got it moved.

Dude. It's a Battlefront II 2 thread. If you don't want to be spoi- oh why do I even bother, these days it's 100% the responsibility of the poster. Ugh.

Thank God it's not FFG, I was afraid I'd have to spend multiple hours and credits to unlock something that might be nerfed sometime in the future.

This made me laugh out loud.

A lingot for you, good sir.

A few questions for everyone defending EAs business practices:

Looking forward to that great single player Star Wars game?

Aw shoot, at least the next Dead Space will be a return to form, right?

Oh well, at least the Mass Effect series is still going strong, isn't it?

Aren't you excited for the future of Titanfall?

This is the next great single player star wars game - I'm REALLY enjoying the campaign thus far.

I don't enjoy any of those other game so no comment.

And for the record I'm not trying to defend EA. I just think this game is awesome, despite the flaws in boxes, and I also think people are exaggerating the whole pay to win argument. I don't feel the loot box thing should deterr people from playing it - because I honestly think it's marvelous.

The main complaints are against EA, I think the dev team probably did the best they could and EA just wanted to push the loot box system because you know it gives them even more money then if they made you pay for a season pass or DLC, seeing how there are people who will be willing to gamble on them to get stuff. It is really skeevy, and I despise the who CCG element of it, especially since you have to pay $60 to just get the game. F2P mechanics shouldn't be added to a retail game like this.

It is a joke on EAs recent(-ish) history, where they forced Viceral to add microtransactions into Dead Space 3, completely wrecking that games flow, resulting in aweful sales. After some small jobs Viceral has been disbanded now. The catch? They had been working on a single player story focussed Star Wars game for a while, which has now been canceled, too, because "it didn't perform well with the target audience". After the death of 1313 this is the next and potentially killing blow to single player Star Wars gaming.

The Mass Effect series was on the decline with its 3rd installation, but Andromeda took things way further. With EAs history of shutting down promising studios that suffered from EAs greedy descisions ( https://imgur.com/gallery/NZalt ) Biowares future might not look so bright.

And EA recently bought the developer of Titanfall, takes no fortune teller to see where that is going...

Don't worry, they will kill BioWare before Respawn, so they have some time remaining. :(

I dunno about you guys, but on PC they have removed the ability to purchase crates for cash. Is it the same on console?

Not sure if this is temporary or permanent.

Still, I did not expect that

I also heard it is as bugged as ****.

If we are lucky maybe Disney will do to EA what Games Workshop did to FFG. Boy that would be awesome if Disney pulls their license from EA, although they may give it to WB which would be just as evil but maybe a bit more competent. Like firing Ozzel to promote Piet. Still dark side but now effective.

Dice always releases bugged games or at least since EA has eaten them up. Its nothing new.

I'll admit that I was a bit miffed that you spoiled what happens in the campaign. The game is only available if you bought the upgraded version (at the time of your posting). I went to the thread trying to find out about game details, not to have the plot of the campaign spoiled. It wouldn't have taken you much to just warn someone. I could've avoided the thread. I mean, I'm not pissed, but I was annoyed.

Exactly. If the game had already been widespread released that's one thing. You click on a thread and you are on your own. I watched a review 3 days ago and the jerk put a cut scene of Iden talking to Leia 10 seconds into the video. No warning, nothing.

I bet he'd be pissed if someone went into the Rebels thread and told you how the series ends.

Oh my god I'm getting more flak about this stupid spoiler that I swear everybody had a gut feeling was gonna happen but we all didn't want it to than I EVER did for personally attacking people two years ago! Good lord people, come off it already.

I'm just pissed because I worked from home today. My copy of the game is with UPS and "out for delivery" at 8:45am, but it's now 4pm and it's not hear yet. @#$%

Tried forever to play the Silencer in game. Everytime I tried, somebody else would get the 3000 pts before me and hog the Silencer until the end of the game. I wish there was an arcade mode for Starfighter Assault. I want to know what it feels like to fly a Silencer. :(

Big ole 'meh' story line that plays too much fan service and ends too abruptly. I think you play as much as other characters than Iden herself.

Obviously there might be a few more missions added as DLC or another game entirely. Oh well, not enough there that makes you want to play through again.

I'm just happy that the gamemodes turned out alright. After the beta I was super freaked out and worrying that I wasn't going to enjoy Galactic Assault. The first games walker assault was fun, but the lack of new objectives and long range weaponry really killed it. This fear was reaffirmed with Theed: it was a really beautiful and cool map but in the Beta the same thing happened: no good weapons for long range.

Now with the full game here, and full access to snipers, specialist and weapons, I am LOVING Galactic Assault. All of the maps are awesome, the snipers are actually decent, and I've been playing exclusively specialist with the NQ whatever it is that you unlock at 50 kills. Its a blast just beaning people, especially with the really fine looking maps. When I played each map the first time and either totally lost or totally steamrolled, I was worried that the maps were going to be unbalanced but after some games all of them seem really well tested and are totally able to play as either side with a good team.

This is to say nothing of the starfighter gamemod (can't remember the name right now). Totally awesome!

Best,

Cow
