Rebel list with tight restrictions

By TheHumanHydra, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Greetings,

So all my lists are Scum or Imperial, but sometimes I pull out my brother's few Rebel ships and my core set T-70 for variety and to test future Rebel list ideas. I've found it difficult to come up with a really solid list. These are the ships we have (all pilot and upgrade cards are available through proxies):

2 T-70 X-wings, 1 T-65 X-wing, 1 A-wing, 4 Sabine's TIEs (?!)

I really like Poe, and have been really enjoying flying him with Intensity, Black One , BB-8, Primed Thrusters, and Autothrusters (41 points), though I'll probably switch to Veteran Instincts and Advanced Optics (40 points) when we know the latter's point cost for sure. I keep trying to use Wedge, my favourite pilot lore-wise, but haven't been completely satisfied with any build I've tried yet. I've used Arvel Crynyd, Gemmer Sojan, and a Green Squadron Pilot as the third ship; they've been okay but not stunning. I haven't used the Sabine's TIEs yet as they bother me a little, but I will if necessary! I normally face Imperial lists with pilots of PS 8 and above. Usually, in my incompetence, I joust into suboptimal positions and two of my ships explode with distressing ease while taking one ship with them. Then either my A-wing somehow survives for two more rounds or Poe dances with their ship(s) for another hour until he or they die(s). Lol!

I would welcome any ideas to give these ships just a little more game against the Imps (I'll work on my approaches on my own time, I promise!). I know it's a tall order--thanks for any help you can provide!

I’m not sure how super competitive anything with that ship limitation could be, but I will attept to step up to the challenge. Here’s what I have to offer:

(99)

Red Squadron Veteran (33) - T-70 X-Wing
Wired (1), Plasma Torpedoes (3), Targeting Astromech (2), Primed Thrusters (1), Integrated Astromech (0)

Red Squadron Veteran (33) - T-70 X-Wing
Wired (1), Plasma Torpedoes (3), Targeting Astromech (2), Primed Thrusters (1), Integrated Astromech (0)

•Jake Farrell (33) - A-Wing
Push The Limit (3), Cruise Missiles (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Autothrusters (2), Deadeye (1)

Jake does his thing. The T-70’s can do their Talon Roll, acquire a TL, and boost in range to fire off their plasma torpedos. Wired seems good because you don’t have to shred the stress to use boost so you can do a white maneuver after the T roll if you want to be unpredictable. 99 points means you can change your Cruise missiles to Harpoon if preferred.

Thanks, jwilliamson. Perhaps some more firepower in the forms of ordnance would help.

It'd be cool to run this vs. Quickdraw. Hopefully deal some damage out and strip all her shields in one round of combat.

Good thought. I do often face Quickdraw.

I tested this against x7 Ryad and Vessery and Pure Sabacc. I was only able to kill Pure Sabacc and do shield damage to the others. I wasn't able to get all my ordnance off, which is always possibly due to poor flying. However, the Wired Reds were an interesting ship. I liked the dice modification on reds; I made a good deal of use of it. The Defenders were always going to be a stiff challenge. Thanks for the list!

I’ve been hoping to give it a try myself this week. I’m thinking the lack of Regen and lower PS on the X-Wings will present a challenge. Could take a few games to get the hang of it.
