The N1 Starfighter Revival

By Zeoinx, in X-Wing

So I watched a youtube video of the campaign of Battlefront II, and noticed one very important thing....X-Wings and N1 Starfighters going into battle against the empire....TOGETHER

FROM THIS POINT ON LET NO MAN WAGE THE QUESTION THAT THE N1 IS CANNON, AND CAN FIGHT IN THE GALACTIC CIVIL WAR!

2 N1s for Christmas with Royal Naboo Starship!

On the contrary, I argue it is not cannon at all.

Canon , on the other hand... :P

Since Prequels, Jarjar and Rebels being canon isn't that much an achievement anyway.

NO, WE SHALL SHOOT ON AHEAD WITH THE PRODUCTION OF THE N1, THAT WILL REQUIRE..... CANNON! pew pew pew

It was pretty cool to fight alongside Leia in that mission to save Naboo.

I expect the N1 in a wave or two, fully.

So a cannon shooting N1-Starfighters. Well we always wonderd when we would get a double cannon upgrade I guess a Starfighter cannon would justify using two slots.

So we get the N-1 from Battlefront II for the Rebellion, so logically the Empire either gets an Inferno Squadron TIE Fighter or the Corvus.

Both. Depending on the story, if inferno squad survives into the First Order, we could get an whole Inferno Squad themed TIE In (pun intended).

No. Please no. Never. No. No thank you.

So does the naboo campaign tie into the comics? Or did leia defend naboo from the Empire on two separate occassions?

It starts when Landos's fleet arrives at the end of the comic.

MAJOR BF2 SPOILER

Can't wait for the Rebel Corvus packed with Iden's X-wing
EDIT Well ****, they even rebelfied it.

Whelp, I was only interested in the story mode, and just lost that interest. Thanks for saving me $80.

Anyway...

+1 for the N1. I would like to see it.

I was considering buying it before the beta, but I'm sceptical towards EA by default (I think their last game I bought was... Mass Effect 3?) and after the P2W/lootbox/inhumane grind controversy EA sure won't get a cent from me... so I just watched the campaign on YT :P

There are some nice moments... but mainly visually, the game looks gorgeous, but the singleplayer... I wouldn't recommend it for the full price, or even half the price. Obviously I only watched it, maybe it's super fun to play, but speaking strictly about the story - the campaign is very short, and even despite that it lacks "flow", it feels like a set of unrelated missions quickly patched together, the story is very predictable, and doesn't even have a proper ending.

Also, Frostbite engine faces and their expressions creep me out.

Yea, I was actually going to get BF2, played the beta, saw loot boxes, saw horrible upgrade system for MP, and now that I saw how short the campaign looks and feels, **** it. waste of money

Sad too considering the graphics are pretty nice.

You know, every time I see the N1, I can't help but think it looks like some early jet prototype that should be being field tested over the Western Front as the Allies advance on Berlin!

I'm not saying it actually looks like a 262 or anything, just that the style rather puts me in mind of that general era (maybe a little earlier, as it looks a bit art-deco to me, but I had to move it back a bit because jet technology wasn't really a thing in the 20's).

Its pretty close. Not an exact match.

As bad as the sequels are I think Lucas was fundamentally a genius for deciding to make WW2 in space with the originial trilogy.

The best part of the sequels are true to that simple idea. The N-1 is one of the few things in the prequels that sticks to that formula though it lacks character.

Its why I dont mind it at all.

Is it the N1 or the Queen's ship that actually sounds a little like a Rolls-Royce engine?

I personally wouldn't mind its existance, might even buy it if it has a great astromech card.

To be honest, I don't understand folks who so vehemently object against its existance. Nobody forces them to buy it. Having more options is always nice, and nobody has to take ALL options.

For example, I dislike the looks of the Aussie Truck, and think that a wooden plane propelled by magic dust to float around has nothing to do in space. I just won't buy it and case closed for me. Those who have it, I wish an enjoyable play with it.
